Update:

September 2021 - I've started writing fanfiction again after around six years. Currently writing on a different site / different genre / different style but I haven't forgotten any of my stories here. My hope is that this will get me back into the swing of things again and I'll be able to clean up and finish some of the work I have already done for my existing stories. Cyco on SV though

Been enjoying reading stories here since the beginning of the year. Had some ideas that I wanted to explore. I'm a long way from being an author but someone might enjoy reading them.

I've borrowed many of the ideas I've read, put my own little spin on them and then added a few of my own ideas (or at least ideas that I haven't read yet). Hopefully the combination should be unique. For my Fan Fiction influences check my favourite stories and authors.

Constructive feedback welcome and I'll listen to any suggestions about my story.

Note I'm pretty bad at proofreading and though I go through chapters at least three times before posting I'm always missing things. I do continue to review my work and as I spot errors I will continue to fix them and update the chapters. I try not to do any serious rewrites when I fix things though I may change minor things.

My Stories

'My Friend Tom'. A story of a friendly Horcrux is my main WIP. My plan was to try and stay a few chapters ahead of my posts to give myself to time to review and get a extra proofread or two in before a chapter is posted. Thanks go to Aletheya who proofread the early chapters. Hiatus.

'There is no try'. A Harry Power becomes a self trained Jedi story. This is powerful Harry that acts when he sees things that need doing. Main characters are Harry, Hermione and Neville. Luna will play an important role from second year on. There will be more than one jedi-in-training but not a lot and also not all of the main characters. I diverged from Canon quickly and with conviction. I won't be returning to it though you'll see a lot of familiar characters. This is not a bash fest. Currently first year posted and I'm slowly working on second year. Hiatus.

'the-boy-who-wasn't-there'. Was originally going to be a quick one shot but turned into all of Year 1 by the time I finished writing it. Since there is some interest in me continuing the story and because I'm a sucker for a kind word I'll post later years. Hiatus.

'Decidedly Different Dursleys'. A one-shot. Covering Harry's youth and first few years of Hogwarts, though a lot happens in those two years. All told with a focus on Vernon's part in the story as it is Vernon who changes the path of the story time and time again. Complete

'First Chapters - An assortment of beginnings'. A growing list of ideas I have for my next extended story. Summaries of the 8 (as I write this) story concepts are included at the beginning of Chapter 1. I'm still currently resisting the urge to continue one of these stories but I'm not sure how much longer I can hold out.

My Personal Recommendations - WIP

My personal policy is to only include completed stories in my favourites list and since it's not possible for visitors to view that list I'm going to mention some of my all time favourites here.

Some other epic stories I am following include Not Normal by Radaslab and it's WIP sequel The New Normal. Diverges from Canon after the Chamber. With Dobby's help Harry works to break free of all manner of Manipulations. Massive story line and filled with many interesting ideas. Heart and Soul by Sillimaure - Bonding/Romance, Political & Drama with plenty of interesting ideas. Innocent by MarauderLover7 - a recent discovery but well worth reading. The stories of many people intertwined into an engaging tale.

For anyone that likes a slightly grimmer tale I'd suggest Psychosis by SnowWhiteOwl. Another active Harry Horcrux story but this Horcrux is a lot less friendly than the one in my story.

Strange Visitors from Another Century by Isilarma - Harry, Ron and Hermione end up back in the time of the Founders. Fun read.

Emerald Eye Knight by timefreak - Crossover with Batman though focus is mainly of Harry and his friends at Hogwarts. I really like the multiple viewpoint style that it is written in

My Personal Recommendations - Completed

These are listed in my favourites but some deserve special mention.

Reunion by Rorschach's Blot - This humorous time travel tale is the one that I always come back to, I've read it 6 times so far. It's also the story that most pushed me to start writing fanfiction, I had the idea of doing an extended version but decided that was beyond my skill. Then I decided I shouldn't let that stop me trying my hand at writing something.

Harry Crow by Robst - a brilliant story of goblin raised Harry. Frequent updates, epic story line, great Cannon and OC characters. If you haven't already read it you are missing out.

For those that like a little crossover fiction I really enjoyed following Harry Tano by TheBeardedOne - Harry is raised by Ahsoka Tano after she finds herself magically transported to earth.
