Author has written 7 stories for Janet Evanovich.
As the pen name suggests, I am a BABE all the way!!! Ricardo Carlos "Ranger", "Cuban Sex God" Manoso is my favorite character. Period. I'd love for him to be a real person and MINE. :)
I took an offbeat route to fan fic having written it in my youth without knowing it had a name or a website. I stumbled upon the Plum series by watching the movie. I didn't expect much when I put in the dvd but I was charmed by it. After seeing One for the Money twice, I went to the library and picked up Two for the Dough and binged on the whole series (18 books at the time) plus the between the numbers, in a month. Soon, I was collecting the series for myself and re-reading it! JE is great at what she does, her books are easy to read and pull you into the adventure and humor. Visiting the Plum universe is like visiting friends.
Overall, I like Joe but Ranger is who I want Steph with. Joe seems like a decent guy but he is not the RIGHT guy. They crave different things. There is so much to be explored with the Merry Men as well. I love them and the possible interactions between them and Steph and the outside world. Rangeman is such fertile ground for the imagination!
I was so frustrated when Ms. Evanovich did NOT take us into the Hawaiian getaway/job in 18! You have Steph and Ranger posing as husband and wife in a beautiful setting like that and nothing?!? *banging head on desk*
I am also frustrated with the lack of growth for any of the characters. I read Takedown Twenty and was very disappointed.. It seems like Morelli is the only one with even an ounce of growth. Most every other character has taken a step backwards. Ranger is reduced to saving her (literally) and loaning her cars and giving her rides even when she is supposedly working for him to solve a mystery HE was working on. The newer books same problem. We've grown, Stephanie and crew mostly regress.
That is what made me think about writing again.
There are a number of amazing writers on this site and I appreciate their creativity, imagination and all the hard work they put into sharing their stories. They entertain, move and inspire us to be better! Thank you! Thank you for developing the familiar characters into robust, rich characters full of life not just waiting for Stephanie to stumble into something. You guys rock! I am honored you read my stuff as well.
4/25/17 Just a note: I will be finishing ALL the stories and hopefully write a bunch more! Beefcake for Charity is nearly complete and Fall Carnival and Bare Chested Ranger are both swirling around in the back of my head once again. Thank you for all the support, questions and interest in the stories! :) Please keep reading!
