Author has written 3 stories for Harry Potter.
For starters, i'm not all that good at talking about myself. So, bear with me...or push the little button that hides this section and pay no attention to the author behind the curtain. : Either is just fine with me. I'm going to put out a warning right now... I am a teenager. I do, however, attest hat i am not a "typical" teenager. So! Following the golden rule of KISS, i'll go ahead and give a rundown of myself, what i like [in general, and in a fic, and what i do not. I will also give you an iota of what i write:
1. Alright...i'm 18, lazy, AMERICAN, lol, in college, and a waitress. I hate bad grammar, etc, and idiotic people. Harry Potter is my favorite book series, Jane Eye is my favorite book, Criminal Minds is my favorite TV show, and One Night with the King is my favorite movie. I'm a classic romantic, a feminist, and [certainly] a cock-eyed optimist. I am also an amateur photographer. I grew up in Marion, Ohio, and still currently live there. I listen to mainly heavy metal, rock, and classic rock. I'm quirky, and ridiculously cheerful. My biggest pet peeves are arrogance, condescension, and inauthenticity in people.
2. What i like in fanfiction: Originality is vital. This can mean a completely AU story, or just a revamp of canon. I love both het, and slash, but not so much femslash. It doesn't work for me. My opinion on what is "in character" for a fanfiction depends on the situation. That being said, however, some things are simply a part of each character: Harry will always be just on the wrong side of reckless, Ron will always love the Cannons, Hermione will always love books, Snape will never be caught in Gryffindor colors, Dumbledore will always twinkle, the twins prank, Luna be...Luna. Bill won't conform, Charlie loves dragons, Percy's pompous, and Bellatrix is insane. This isn't to say that the reasons WHY these things are true cannot change, simply that without them, something vital will always be missing. I refuse to force the characters to make the same choices over and over. That is boring, and if that was what i wanted, then i would simply read the books again. The situations, as well as choices will differ. *steps off soapbox* Moving along, I love Mentor!Snape, Powerful!Harry, and the idea of using muggle weaponry and/or fighting styles in fanfiction. I also like alliances with the goblins, and creature fics. I will never read Harry/Ginny. I don't like it, and i will never write it. I don't like Mary Sue's, severe OOC-ness [without reason, and gaping plot holes in fanfiction.
Phew. I think that's enough for now. :
