The 10 Rules to writing a great story:
1.) Never open the book with the weather.
2.) Avoid Prologues.
3.) Never use a verb other than "said" to carry a dialog.
4.) Never use an adverb to modify the word "said"
5.) Keep your exclamation points under control!
6.) Never use the words "suddenly" or "all hell broke loose."
7.) Use dialect sparingly.
8.) Avoid detailed descriptions of characters. (This one bothers me the most!)
9.) Same for places and things.
10.) Leave out the parts readers tend to skip. (Think about it, when reading, what do you ignore?)

Favorite Fan-fiction: Harry Potter, The Big Bang Theory, and Avatar: The Last Air-Bender
Pet Peeves about stories I've read:
-When the author doesn't use spell check thus leaving me to attempt to translate what they are trying to say.
-When they misspell a main character's name. ex:it's Sirius Black NOT Serious Black.
-Getting the major facts wrong... and minor. Hey I'm a big fan, I will notice these things. Ex: Toph has pale GREEN eyes not gray, the eye color denotes the nation!
-Most Mary Sue stories (especially if they transfer from the United States, *rolls eyes*).
-When the author horribly mistakes the characters and has them act in ways that they never would (Toph can always see when she has her feet on the ground, she NEVER would get lost unless her feet weren't on the ground, also she is not a scaredy cat unless she has a real good reason for it).
-Especially when the story makes the characters fall in love before they have ever shown any interest in each other, show the readers HOW they fell in love.
-Timing, don't repeat yourself! It just confuses the crap out of me and the other readers, keep the time-line understandable! Ok, I'm done...
Hola, Bonjour, um...hi...yeah I don't really know Spanish at all. Sorry, I actually am studying French right now...J'adore le langue. I love speaking French, but I'm not the best at writing it. I am a huge Harry Potter fan. *SQUEE!* Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows! Number 7 finally has a title!! J.K. Rowling has officially named it on her website www.jkrowling.com
Anyway, my name is Neville'sEcotopia, I consider myself to be most like Neville or Luna, although I don't think they would make a good couple for very long...
OMG, wow. Ok, so it's 2009...and I finally looked back at this and most of it is still the same. But what irked me was right above this entry: The final 7th Harry Potter book TITLE had JUST come out?! My god...it's been a while since I updated this thing don't ya think? And yes as it says, I am a HUGE Harry Potter fan. I mean, my friends always *sigh* whenever I seem to make some completely random connection between Harry Potter and the real world. Sadly I've had to explain this to classmates: yes, I know that the Harry Potter world is all fiction. *SIGH* But I really want to say something...Neville is a BA, seriously! Am I proud to say that I was a fan of him before the 5th book came out? Heck yes!
Now, if I had the talent and the ideas that lasted more than a total of 2 paragraphs, I would LOVE to write fan-fiction! But as I really am not THAT great at it, I turn to you lovely people to help fulfill my obsessions. For which I would like to give a BIG thanks!
I like these couples:
Sheldon and Penny, Zutara, Tokka, Hermione and Tom (time warped only), Harry and Luna, Ron and Hermione, Ginny and...um someone other than Harry, I just don't care for that couple as much (Especially since they failed so much in the movies at making it look believable).
I love to "laugh in your general direction" about Zuko and Toph, Katara and anyone way over her age (more creepy than funny), Dumbledore and anyone (because it's too weird to imagine and I don't like to read about adults especially with kids, sorry). BUT if they're written well enough I won't mind (especially if it's only in the past/aka about the same age-ex: time turner).
I have read many fan-fictions, but I am not a big fan of all fan-fiction.
Although when I read the 6th book, I couldn't help but stop and say out loud... "wow... horcrux... that's like a really bad fan-fiction." If it wasn't for the fact that it was indeed the REAL book, I would of tried to find a better story. But now, I can accept it. However, I have found better stories and I commend those who have done so...
-98 percent of teenagers do or has tried pot. If you're one of the 2 percent who hasn't, copy and paste this into your profile.
-Ninety-five percent of kids out there are concerned with being popular and fitting in. If you're part of the five percent who aren't, copy this, put it in your profile.
-If you think that those stupid kids should just give that God- forsaken Trix rabbit some Trix, copy this into your profile.
ANYWAY... I think that I might try to write a fic about Luna. I feel an affinity to her and Neville, it's almost as if they define my life. How does this sound for a starter?
"She dressed that way for fun, but no-one seemed to have figured it out. They just thought that she was weird, and that was how it all started."
Also, I had a hilarious thought, did Voldemort ever have a mid-life crisis? If so, I'd LOVE to read that bit of hilariousness! Also I had to giggle at a random thought I had before I went to bed, how do dementors breed and if they do, how hilarious would it be if they had to try to court each other "You suck the soul right out of me" LMAO!
