Merry Meet and Blessed Be!
You can call me Scorp. And yes, I am a witch (figuratively, literally and as a Wiccan) :) Another point, I am trying out Tumblr. If you are interested in following me, you can check me out at: Randonmess but you can also see me lurking around on the Review Sub-Categories. In fact, if you want a review to your story? Here's a good place to search for one! If you are looking for some help or a beta? The Reviews Lounge is an EXCELLENT place to look for one. And we're all super sweet and nice people so don't feel like you can't join in on the fun. We welcome everyone and like all fandoms :). You can also find me lurking around in the Review Lounge, Too forums (I am one of the RLt's mods). Commonly, I am here:
I, MissScorp, do solemnly swear to *try and* review all the fics I read, regardless of the number of reviews, its age, or anything else.
I have joined the review revolution.
I am making a statement about Original Characters right here and now: I use them, I love them, they are part of the cast inside my particular story. I feel there's a very bad rap against OCs on FFN, and that people tend to lump all writers who use them into one collective pot and allow their assumptions to discount a story because of it. Well, yanno what they say about assumptions, right? Seriously, here's my response to you OC phobics:
Dick Grayson was brought in as Robin after Batman was an already established character. He was an OC when he first entered the fandom. Becomes a new main character and has a huge following. We then get Jason Todd. Another OC. He becomes Robin. Another new main character. People hated him because he wasn't fleshed out properly so he gets killed. Enter Tim Drake. Another OC. He becomes Robin. Another new main character that is widely loved by fans. Enter Damian Wayne. Another OC. Becomes Robin. Another new main character that has amassed quite a little following. What's the pattern here? All the Batboys started life as...ORIGINAL CHARACTERS! So get over your OCphobia and give an OC a chance. You might find another Robin.
And with that said, here is a small summary of my stories and some of my thoughts and things at this point on them:
For starters, I want to say that I am 97.5% (statistical significance here folks!) writing out of the Batman comics (you can say that I am using these comics for a good majority of what I am writing from:with a small influence from the Arkham games (meaning that I am using plot bunnies and such to flavor out specific characters but am not focusing on the gameplay or rehashing the game storyline. You want to see the game storyline? Watch it on youtube or play the games). The majority of my storyline is set around the events of Battle for the Cowl, Batman R.I.P and Red Robin #1: The Grail. To try and help give a perspective of the timeline in my series, the sequence (as of this moment) that the stories should be read in is as follow:
THE ARKHAM SERIES:
The Road Home Series:
1) Batman: A Christmas Present--(Complete)
2) Batman: City of Fear-- (In-Progress)
3) Batman: The Joker's Revenge-- (Complete)
4) Red Robin: Skittles and Vanilla ice cream-- (Complete)
5) Batman: Odyssey-- (Complete)
6) Red Robin: A Birdie Alone-- (Complete)
7) Batman & Robin: The Past Revisited-- (Complete)
8) Redemption-- (flashback is set before Past Revisited)(Complete)
9) Of Batman and Nightwing and Robin-- (Complete)
10) The Birthday Present--(complete)
11) Red Hood and Robin: Family Traditions--(complete)
The Road of Blood and Fear
1) The Harlequin's Request-- (Complete)
2) Batman & Robin: Inceptive-- (In-Progress)
3) Love and Bullets-- (Complete)
I want to make a distinction that there are stories in the Arkham series which take place within the center of the videogames Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. They still are taking place above but they are different because WB had to come along and screw with the timelines. *sigh* Like I don't have enough confusion and complications?
The Asylum Incident (these are based upon events in Batman: Arkham Asylum)
1) The Harlequin's Regret-- 16 months before AC incident (Complete)
2) The Harlequin's Love Poem--16 months before AC incident (Complete)
3) The Temptation of Dr. Jonathan Crane--16 months before AC incident (Complete)
The Road to Arkham City
1) Heart of a Robin-- (Complete but due for an overhaul)
2) Robin: Martian Child-- (Complete)
3) Nightwing and Robin: Growing Pains-- (Complete)
4) *Robin: Noel-- Events of Arkham City occur within this story (Complete)
5) *The Harlequin's Revenge-- Events of the DLC called Harley Quinn's Revenge occur within this story (Complete)
--*Parts of Noel are going to be set before Revenge, which is why that story is established as being "before" that story. Also, this can be seen as an AU of the above storyline because it has more of a game verse feel to it and I might have something else planned for Inceptive.
THE TIES THAT BIND SERIES
I am calling this my version of the 52 Reboot. Everything that happens in my Arkham Arc? It never happens here. This is more AU base with a stronger influence from the comics. This story explores the idea of what life in general might have been like for the members of the Batclan had none of the events that occurred in the Arkham Series occurred with one incredibly big AU twist taken from the Batman R.I.P. comics.
1) Red Robin: A Birdie Alone*-- (Complete)
2) Red Robin: Family Ties (Complete)
3) The Birthday Wish-- (Complete)
4) Ballad of a Robin (Complete)
5) Bringing the Red Hooded Birdie home... (Complete)
Batman (Nolan Verse):
Gotham's Knight-- (In-Progress)
1) Just a Man-- (Complete)
2) Only a Man-- (In-Progress)
Arrow (TV Series)
I decided to write a babble for a friend that is Deadpool centric. I may, given that it wasn't a complete failure apparently add to this verse as it is fun and outside my normal fandom. We'll have to see!
1) Conversation with the Fourth Wall: (Currently updated at whim and inspiration)
2) Breaking the Fourth Wall: (Complete)
Gears of War Verse:
I am of course drawing from the games and the novels here (I have only recently begun reading the comics and that tends to make the writing slooow). I personally am having fun with this story because I don't feel that we ever get enough information about Baird. I love characters that are complex and who have room in which one can expand upon and play with, so for me, ROTL has been fun to write.
Gears of War: Rise of the Lambent-- (In Progress)
Gears of War: The End Game--(Complete)
Gears of War: Sacred Bonds--(Complete)
God of War Verse:
God of War: Blades of Redemption-- (Short hiatus)
Ah, this story is going to be fun because it incorporates my love of Greek myth and magic with my love of brutality. I am trying to finish up the last two shorts in my Batman verses to focus over here so updates might tend to be slow but I promise them to be good! I am planning this to only be a five to six chapter story but it could become longer if the idea flows out and I continue having fun with it.
Grand Theft Auto: Ballad of Silence--(On hiatus)
Hitman: Contracts Revisted-- (In Progress)
Mortal Kombat: Unleashed-- (In Progress)
Resident Evil: Project XX-- (In Progress)
Star Wars verse:
It should be noted here that there are TWO different arcs in this story. Where the arcs diverge into their own storylines happens after Alliances basically. Force Allegiances will follow Kali and Obi-Wan and generally is going to explore how a Jedi bond can be successful
1) Star Wars: Legacy: (Complete)
2) Star Wars: Alliances: (Writing stage)
3) Star Wars: Exile: (Planned)
LEGACY OF THE MANDALORIAN
Star Wars: Legacy: (Complete)
Star Wars: Bloodlines: (In Progress)
Star Wars: Choices: (Complete): This story is just an AU, standalone story that changes how ROTS could have ended and shows what the Star Wars saga might have looked like had George Lucas begun the series with the Prequels rather than the Original Trilogy.
The Christmas Kiss-- (Complete)
This was my very very very first fic on FF.net and honestly, while it is one that I'd like to sometimes go back and change or delete completely, I am proud of the story for the simple fact that I took and wrote it, challenging myself by writing it and sharing it.
