Hello all, welcome to my profile. I'm a beginning writer hoping to get some practice in for when I write an original novel, so here I am. I am a male living in the American Southeast, and a bit of a nerd. My tastes are strange and varied, reaching across nearly the entire spectrum of cinema, literature, and video games. I primarily enjoy fantasy of science fiction works, but I'll enjoy most others (except for cheap romance, horror (I'm a bit of a coward), or any work I think doesn't take itself seriously enough).
Current fandoms I consider myself a part of include (but are not limited to) in no particular order:
How to Train Your Dragon
Lord of the Rings
Song of Ice and Fire (I haven't finished yet, don't spoil)
Dark Souls (Praise the Sun!)
Dungeons and Dragons (told you I was a nerd)
And others, these are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head.
I'm also a fan of history, mythology (particularly Norse mythology), human psychology, as well as a general scholar of anything that I find interest in. I frequently use this passion for study in my stories, so they tend to be lore-accurate when possible. I'm not particularly religious myself, but if I feel that religion would play a part in a character's reaction to an event, I'll include it in my mental algorithm for character responses. This is done in a non-biased way; some characters think poorly of religion, some think highly of it, some adhere to religions which would compete with those of other characters. I just write them how I think real people placed in their situations would react.
