Author has written 8 stories for Pokémon, Punch-Out!!, Psychonauts, Legend of Zelda, Grand Theft Auto, Street Fighter, and Team Fortress 2.
Greetings, all. I am HHShetland, but you can call me HH. Shetland or just HH, or any similar variation. I'm not too picky.
Anyway, I write fanfiction, obviously. What kind? Well, just wait and see. I originally came here to write Pokemon fanfic, but I have a feeling I've gone off that for now. I still plan on finishing The Stool Project sometime, however. As per usual, here's a list of other things I am a fan of:
As you can see, I never pin down everything on a single subject. I guess you could say I go through 'phases' of interest.
I will say this, though: I don't do shipping, or really anything romantic. I know many people enjoy it, but me, I just find it pointless. Never been much of a romantic person (I will admit, there is one exception to this, but I won't spoil it).
I mostly enjoy stories that put an emphasis on the characters and how they interact with each other in an assortment of scenarios, ranging from the mundane to the fantastic and everything in-between. While I like to give everything a chance, I tend to gravitate more towards stories of a lighthearted and/or comedic nature, dealing more with mindless hijinks than anything too serious, unless it's a Black Comedy and the serious nature of the story is played for laughs. I prefer not to alter the nature of a setting (i.e. turning a comedic setting into a dramatic one and vice versa), so I'm more likely to write for things that are lighthearted and/or comedic to start with and stick to that nature, but I'm open for experimentation, The Stool Project being an example of such.
I also have this habit of making original characters for bloody everything (whether that's a good thing or not, I'll let you be the judge of that), but to counteract this uncontrollable habit, I have sworn to never give them central focus, unless it's an Elsewhere Fic where everybody that matters is an OC (or at least, that used to be the case. But now that I've written Two Psychos this rule might go out the window. Not completely, of course. Just a bit of it.)
As for myself as a person, I am opinionated but reasonable, and have a habit of staying up into the nighting (that's the night when it's in the morning). Insomniac? Maybe. I am also male (sometimes I feel like I'm part of an endangered species or something around here; but to be fair, most of my real life friends are girls, too), 20 years old and very British. I'm also an agnostic atheist, and I don't know why I felt like pointing that out (no, I honestly don't care if you're religious. Just please don't aggressively shove it in my face, and we won't have any problems). I like to consider myself a philosophical type, though I fear I may have lost my spark since I stopped studying philosophy a few years ago. Ah well.
If you drink alcohol (I don't, because I'm a teetotaller, but whatever), here's a good drinking game for you: go onto this site and take a shot every single time you encounter a romance fic. You will die. I'm not joking, either, you will die of liver failure from the sheer amount of alcohol you consume. Only for the heavyweights, that. :P
Expecting me to copy and paste a bunch of stuff from other people's profiles here? Something like 'only 99 percent of teenagers (why's it always teenagers?) do/don't do X, paste this here if you do ' or something along those lines? Well, prepare to be mortally disappointed. That's not my thing. I mean, if I really wanted to voice some strong opinion or belief, I'd do so as an individual, if you 'catch my drift', as they say.
For those of you who are curious, myeh, the fellow in my avatar is a Fongoid, myeh, from Ratchet & Clank: A Crack In Time. I'd definitely play that game, myeh, if I had a PlayStation 3, myeh.
