![]() Author has written 8 stories for Harry Potter, Batman, and Jane and the Dragon. I read and write FanFic for fun and stress relief, nothing more. J.R.R. Tolkien is my all-time favorite author. Sir Doyle is a close second. My son, JB, thoroughly enjoys C.S. Lewis, J.R.R Tolkien and a variety of the DC Universe. I'm currently writing my own fantasy novel, which I may complete in my lifetime. Harry and Hermione are my favorite characters from the J.K. Rowling books. I was disappointed when book six took the Harry/Ginny Ron/Hermione path. Found hope in book seven until Ron came back. This is why all my fanfics will more than likely center these two even if they don't seem to start that way. I try to do things unique and not 'borrow' any ideas. Some common thoughts cannot be avoided, but I try really hard to at all cost. Everything I write has a purpose and I try really hard not to write filler. I do love a good twist though! My writings border the darkness but stay on top; riding it like a razor's edge. My son, JB, tries to emulate my writing style. You can expect his stories to stay on the lighter side. I'm hoping that writing FanFic will help teach him how to develop his own characters. When you receive the answer that you desire ... Question The Answer! To state the obvious: 4/10/2018 ATTN: The Falling readers - Should I merge The Falling and The Falling: Darkness Rising into one long story or keep the two separate? Please PM me with your answer! Disclaimer We don't own the Harry Potter Series, Universe, or anything in it. That all belongs to J.K. Rowling. We don't own the DC Universe or anything in it. We don't own the Marvel Universe or anything in it. We don't own Jane and the Dragon or anything in their universe. We just enjoy making up all kinds of fun stories about them! This is, and always will be, just for fun. Update: December 27, 2017 Hope everyone had a very merry Christmas! It's been awhile since my last update and a couple of people have become concerned. No worries. I'm still here. Just been incredibly busy! Between getting my new novel ready and becoming a paid editor, life has been hectic. I will be updating An Ace in the Hole and The Falling: Darkness Rising. My helper for Poor Decisions dropped off so, updates will come when they can. My son has gotten wrapped up in writing flash fiction so, I The Trial of Harry Potter and When Harry Met Jane will remain on hiatus for now. Check out my list of Recommended Reads below. I will continue to add to the list as I read and edit new works. That's it for now. Happy reading! P.S.: It's so much easier to edit other people's stories than it is to do your own! Just saying ... :) Update: July 8, 2017 Either my life is getting shorter or I over-exaggerated how long it would take me to write my own fantasy novel! Just finished the SECOND book in what will now be a series! The first book's release has been dramatically delayed, but the final revision is almost complete and the illustrations are done. I really have to give the editors a lot of credit. The book is looking polished and it's almost ready. I'll keep everyone posted (really excited)! Update: April 21, 2016 I've been receiving a lot of encouragement to keep writing and people wondering when I will update my current stories again. Thank you for your concerns. Truth is, my laptop was stolen and I'm having to rewrite what I lost. (I'm aware of Dropbox. Actually had an ownCloud account for a while.) The hardest part was losing my notes. Having to remember some of my ideas again has been difficult (the best come in the middle of the night). Good news is that I've been able to get a lot rewritten and will be updating soon! Thanks again for all the encouragement! P.S.: My updates will include the start of my sequel to The Falling. Update: September 5,2016 A quick update. As many have been wondering, I have NOT taken a hiatus from writing. Instead, I've been working very hard on recouping what I lost with the loss (THEFT) of my favorite computer (AND BACKING UP EVERYTHING). They say that plumbers have the worst leaks... Anyways, I will be posting more chapters soon. Thanks for all the encouragement and interest in my stories. Update: February 5, 2017 Sorry for the long delay again. Life, Holidays and the release of Season 4 of Sherlock completely shutdown my creative processes. Had to sit back and watch all four seasons of Sherlock on a 20 hour binge to wrap my mind around the fact that such a great series had ended. Now, I'm over it and back on the wagon! I will be focusing on updating all four of my open stories, though The Darkness Rising and An Ace In The Hole will have the lion's share of my attentions. My son JB is completely distracted by the Netflix series, Voltron, and by several school projects so, I would not expect anything from him until the summer. I could be wrong though. Children have a way of proving their parents wrong. Thank you to all of you that encourage me to continue writing. Rants This is the section of my profile where I rant about things in FanFic that irritate me. HP: Ron/Hermione - I read seven books that outlined the relationship between Ron and Hermione, so why oh why would I want to read more about the future poster couple of marriage counseling. Their friendship was based around Harry Potter and unless he was going to live with them as the for hire referee, it was a doomed prospect. Holding to that thought, how can anyone write about a Ron/Hermione friendship without Harry Potter? I've stumbled across Fanfics that somehow believe that without Harry's presence they would have still been friends! Ron was never sensitive enough to have ever realized that Hermione was anything but a bossy bookworm. He would have never seen her as someone longing for a friend. In his eyes, she was just like him; a prat looking for attention. HP: Harry/Ginny - While this pairing isn't totally unrealistic (I know someone who married his stalker), I despise reading about it in Fanfics. It was easy to see Ginny's fascination with Harry, but unless a love potion was used I just cannot see Harry picking Ginny as his true love. Ginny was nothing more than a fan girl, and like her brother Ron she was only obsessed with the Boy-Who-Lived and not interested in the real Harry. HP: Cursed Child - I do not care for the Cursed Child and will not be writing or reading any fanfics that reference it. She should have sat down and done a refresher before approving the script. It feels as though she forgot why she wrote her previous books. I've read fanfics that are much better efforts than CC. SPOILER - Instead of saving Cedric, she should have focused on her biggest blunder of the series which was her pairings. Harry and Hermione should have been together. Would it have changed Albus, James and Lily? Maybe. Would one or all have ceased to exist? Maybe, but would that have been such a major negative? In my personal opinion, no. Harry and Hermione would have had children together. Ron and Ginny would have found someone. Bottom line - HP is J.K. Rowling's to do with as she pleases. It's her story, not ours. For me, she finally bombed the series and I will pretend that CC never happened.
