I use people's favourites to find new stories. If you've come here to do the same, other recommended "web-fiction" not in my favourites include (fanfiction.net doesn't like my links so some may be missing):
Mother of Learning by nobody103 over on fictionpress
Zorian, a mage in training, only wanted to finish his education in peace. Now he struggles to find answers as he finds himself repeatedly reliving the same month. 'Groundhog's day' style setup in a fantasy world.
- My favourite story (favourite in its original meaning rather than as a category on this website).
The Beginners Guide to Magical Site Licensing by Thaumaturgical_Support over at or as JoelCrum on wattpad
The Beginners Guide is a serial fantasy novel set in a world where magic is real and magical spells are valuable intellectual property jealously guarded by the corporations and magi that created them. Kyle is a working corporate mage. His day job coaxing fragile magical equipment to continue operating is pure drudgery, but when he discovers a new and powerful spell he thinks he has it made.
He's about to learn what happens when you threaten the interests of the mighty.
Twisted Cogs by Malcolm Hemmings at the twistedcogs wordpress page /
It is the turn of the 16th Century, and the world has entered a golden age of art, invention, and architecture. This renaissance of literature and learning in Europa is suddenly thrown into overdrive when a chosen few “Stormtouched” begin displaying supernatural abilities... (bad blurb, good story)
The Waves Arisen is an excellent, intelligent Naruto fanfic at the wertifloke wordpress page
A young Naruto found refuge in the village library, and grew up smart, but by blood he is Ninja, and what place is there for curiosity and calculation in this brutal world of warring states?
The Gods are Bastards by D. D. Webb at Tiraas wordpress page tiraas.wordpress dot com
Evil is rising. The world is rent by strife. The gods have turned away from us. In times past, heroes of sword and sorcery have always risen to turn back the tide of darkness… But what will become of us all, now that swords are obsolete, sorcery is industrialized, and heroism itself is considered a relic of the past?
Set in Stone by Farmerbob1 at his wordpress page setinstonestory.wordpress dot com
Set In Stone: Follower is the first book in a planned series. The book tells the story of a young animal trainer named Allen Rickson who is caught up in the chaos of upcoming war. Can he survive in the field while at the same time preventing his trained swine from finding their way into the cook pots of the army that presses him into service?
I use bloxp to convert web-fiction from blogs such as wordpress into ebook files for mobile reading (google it, its awesome but doesn't work on everything) and the FanFicFare plugin for Calibre to do the same thing for most fanfiction websites, including this one. Wattpad is a special flower and doesn't let you read the stories there offline unless you have a smartphone with their free app.
