Boy, I really need to update my profile... but am too lazy to right now...
Amatúlië! Welcome! I’m NightFuryofGallifrey, also known in other web-spheres as Hannah, narniahannah, InkElf, and celtic13.
I'm excited to share my fanfiction with you all. :D I've been a writer since, well, I wrote my first "book" at age 9- The Caterpillar Family (and don't even bother asking to read it). I've been writing seriously since about 2008-2009 when my mother made the wonderful discovery of the One Year Adventure Novel (OYAN) writing curriculum.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about this curriculum. It has literally changed my life. If you consider yourself a writer, or writer wannabe, you must check out this curriculum!
I can ramble about OYAN for a really long time, but I will shut myself up right now before I get carried away. :)
While OYAN is a super huge and important part of my life, the most important thing you must know about me is that I am a Daughter of the Risen King- A Christian, a pilgrim and stranger in this world, a wretched sinner saved only by the grace of God and who strives to glorify him with all I do.
I am also a fangirl, nerd, and geek... as you probably guessed. If I wasn't, what business do I have on a site such as this? :P
My fandoms will probably become known through the fanfics I post, I will conveniently list them here for you.
I am a Whovian, Sherlockian, Jedi Master, Ringer, Narnian, Dragon Trainer and Rider of Berk, and Mockingjay. I am also a bit of a Disney nerd, as well as a Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys, and Robin Hood fan! And was recently converted into a Trekkie by my good friend, Epicfangirl10. :)
I had a huge long list of my ships here, but it made my profile super long, so I took it off. :P But if you're curious, just PM me and I'll tell ya. XD I love getting to talk to fellow fans, so don't hesitate to send me a message and we can geek out with each other. :D
I will mention, that while I have a hard time choosing an OTP, the biggest ship I CANNOT stand is Johnlock. Apologies to all of you out there who do, but I really can't stand it. I find it degrading when people assume you can't have a close and intimate relationship without a romantic side to it. Yes, John and Sherlock would (and do) do anything for the other. Yes, they'd sacrifice anything for the other. Yes, they have a deep and intimate relationship. Yes, John and Sherlock love each other. But degrading it to mere sexual attraction or making them "in love" is, as I've said, degrading it. I curse the English language that we only have one word for "love". :P
#end rant #gets off soapbox
I think that about sums me up... or at least sums me up as best I can be explained. I am a very confusing person, and get myself mixed up sometimes. :P
Oh, one last thing.
Call me oversensitive or insensitive if you will, but I am very particular about the content I will expose myself to. I do not read or write slash of any kind (I've already expressed my distaste for Johnlock), and will not read fics over a T rating. I also will not read or write overly-suggestive/downright-intimate scenes. Language is a fine line, and while I won't use swear words in any of my own stories, it's not the biggest turn off in a fic I'll read - to a certain degree, and with certain words. I've read some really amazing fics that I love, but can't favourite because the characters were dropping f-bombs right and left (that's a bit of an exaggeration. I'd stop reading a fic if your characters start that. :P)
Also, some of the fics I'm working on (I'd like to make sure I finish them before I post them), will probably have to get a T rating because of character death and violence. One thing I'd like you to know is, I don't write gore. Violence and injury yes, but I won't go on page long descriptions of battle wounds. :P I also will not write overly-suggestive or explicit scenes, or use coarse language of any kind. If you think any of my works are too violent, or explicit, please let me know! I strive to honor God with all that I do, so if you think any of my work is not honoring to God, please do not hesitate to let me know.
I will do my best to accept any constructive criticism. I am a writer, and I know the only way I will get better is by other people pointing out my flaws. :) So please don't hesitate to critique! It really makes my day when someone leaves me a review more than "I liked it." I will listen with open ears, to use the cliche. :)
I will stop boring you with the little details about me, and let you get back to whatever it was you were doing before clicking on my profile. :) Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the world!
God bless, Allons-y and Namárië!
