Eh. I never know what to say in a profile bio. Consider that the "reluctant" part of my username. I like English mysteries, Doctor Who, Haven, small dogs, geology/earth science, and Lay's potato chips. I dislike Facebook, internet trolls, licorice, and bad drivers.

So what's a reluctant monkey, you ask? I honestly don't know. I took the name from an anonymous college student, quoted by Professor Anders Henriksson, in his book Ignorance is Blitz.

"The historicle [sic] period ended shortly after World War II-III. Historians and others attempt to pin the tail on the reluctant monkey of change."

Yeah. There's really not much you can even say in response to that, is there. :)

If you've never read Ignorance is Blitz, I highly recommend it. First, you will laugh so hard you'll cry. This, of course, will be followed by further weeping as you ponder the state of higher education in America, but it's still a gem of a book.

07/03/2013: Camp NaNoWriMo/Cold Lake Murders update: Topped 10K words already. This equates to almost 3 chapters. Whenever I finish this thing and then give it an edit, I will post it here.

07/06/2013: I'm now at just over 25K words, with five chapters done.

08/16/2013: CLM is now undergoing the editing process. I hope to have it ready to post by early-to-mid September.

09/05/2013: I've posted the first 3 chapters of CLM to my website (thereluctantmonkey[dot]com). I will repost the chapters here once the entire story is available.
