Author has written 11 stories for StarTrek: The Next Generation, and Star Trek: Picard.
I'm the chatteringmagpie and I hail from the Great White North. It's been a long time since I've updated anything, and there are reasons for that. Since I first started publishing, I've had a second child, and lost my husband to a brain tumor. Unfortunately, both Frankie the parrot, and Hendrix the big fat dynamo have also gone to a better place. My trusty laptop proved to not be so trusty, and I lost the end of Flames of the Feeonix when it crashed (no backup, I know, big time fail). With two kids, one of whom has special needs, and my own business, it's difficult to find the time to finish that story but I am still working on it, and I will complete it eventually. Thank you to everyone who has encouraged me to keep the flames alive. It helps. I still have lots of other Data and Naseema adventures to tell too so hopefully those will materialize in the future for everyone who enjoys my writing. The new Star Trek:Picard series has presented the wonderful character of Elnor, the adorable little Romulan that could, and I love him so much that you can expect future stories featuring him as well.
I still write in the romance genre because it's fun, and who doesn't love a little smutty indulgence now and again? My favourite romance novelist is Johanna Lindsey, and my stories are meant to be trashy, silly, and enjoyed with a light-hearted spirit.
I created my character, Naseema and her ancient race, the Feeonix, specifically for Lt. Commander Data because he was totally robbed of a decent romantic interest after the death of Tasha Yar, who I honestly didn't like anyway. I have treated Naseema as an integrated canon character because I feel that Data would be far more likely to fall in love with someone he'd already known a long time rather than someone new. I also wanted to explore a character that had immense power, like a dowd or a Q, and what the repercussions of such power would be like for them, and those around them. Since these are romance stories, those powers are, of course, ridiculous.
I'm fully open to suggestions so if you read and enjoyed my fics, please feel free to drop me a line if you have any ideas, no matter how ludicrous, for future adventures or any other suggestions, or even if you thought it was crap and want to tell me off, that's cool too. Happy reading, happy writing and remember, people like Joss Whedon don't become rich without people like us so revel in your fandom.
