A word about me: Self-conscious. i.e. I'm easily influenced by others when they comment on my appearance/actions etc.
"With great power... comes great need to take a nap." — Nico Di Angelo
"Go with what your heart tells you, or you will lose all" — A Nereid from the Lightning Thief.
"That's us"... "Those five nuts right there."
The flaw of the unflawed is fiction.
"Life at any time can become difficult. Life at any time can become easy. Good or bad, they are seasons of life. It all depends upon, how you take on life and adjust to these seasons." — Pravsworld/adapted from Desai, Morarji.
"Everything is like stepping stones, and I've seen people I admire falter. We're all vulnerable." — Hugh Jackman.
"Seek and Persevere" — Me (haha jkjk).
Don't lose hope. "(When) The Sun goes down, the stars come out" — Glad You Came - The Wanted
"Ah, love. L-O-V-E, love. L is for life. And what is life without love?..." — Ross Geller, Friends
"My life is an embarrassment, I should just go live under somebody's stairs." — Ross Geller, Friends
"When I first meet somebody, it's usually panic, anxiety, and a great deal of sweating." — Chandler Bing, Friends
"Don't you hate it when people aren't there for you?" — Phoebe Buffay, Friends
"Isn't that just kick-you-in-the-crotch, spit-on-your-neck fantastic?" — Rachel Green
Sometimes you got to immerse yourself in fiction to catch a break from reality. Whether or not it's in a world created by you, or others, its a getaway. At least for me; flaws and baggage... Imagination can help diminish the the cruelty of life.
I face a lot of stress, both academic and... personal wise, and writing Fanfic has greatly reduced this. However, I won't be able to write if the stress becomes too overwhelming (caused by personal matters).
AN: A New Life, Light will be put on hold for the next month (until mid or end of October) because of my exam preparation! Sorry to disappoint, but I have my priorities... Thanks for all the support so far, I never expected this story to turn out so well! I promise I won't give up on this plot, not to worry!(: see you guys soon!
Meanwhile... here's a small hint for my next Fanfic, which I'll be writing with A New Life, Light in November: "Back from —" (Percabeth).
I'll also be writing a Poë (Percy/Zoë) story, which will take place after TLO(: Rest assured it won't be the same as A New Life, Light, though Annabeth will be... breaking our hero's heart):
I'm a Percabeth fan (or I honestly won't be looking forward to HoH this Oct!!) and I absolutely love how the 2 fit each other though they may seem to be polar opposites. As the saying goes, opposites attract :D
My current (first) story isn't based on Percabeth as you can see if you read it, because I find Pertemis befitting should anything happen to Annabeth — I don't want to kill her off either hence a new yet realistic love scene unfolds between her and another boy. I can promise that the plot isn't like the usual, overdone ones. Give it a try if you will(:
Why I decided to write 'A New Life, Light'. You don't have to read it, I just want to voice it out (a lengthy one...)
I mean, if you want them to break up, at least try to change something and tone down the attitude of the 2. It isn't like Annabeth to flock to someone who claims to be a hero unless somehow someone managed to sneak a love potion to her. It's okay, Percy rages and throws a ring at Annabeth, telling her to 'save it'/'(profanities)'/'Why!!'/'How could you!' etc. same old same old and runs off only to find his mortal parents dead?! I mean, how in Zeus' name can something escalate to that extent. That's not it, he starts running in the wild with nothing but Riptide and survives for days/weeks/(months?!) without facing any difficulty in even setting up camp for such a long time (the books only suggested that they camped in the woods for 1/2 nights), and meets a Primordial/Chaos!
Then he leaves Earth for centuries and comes back to help them but nothing has changed in the mortal world. Wow. Just, wow. Either that or he goes to Zeus to die and ends up becoming the Guardian of the Hunt, and somehow he just felt like swearing on Chaos? Seriously -.- To me, those plots are ridiculous yet completely overused. Everything progresses so fast and Percy's life is so unlucky.
I know this is Fanfic where imagination is unleashed, but there ought to be some extent of creativity and realism, eh? Anyway, this is why I wanted to write my own story, including how Annabeth drifted away from Percy gradually, towards another boy who seems to understand her and not just because of his external features/superficial actions... (Edit: I know the development between Annabeth and the boy - Jake isn't quite done yet... Only the first chapter really shows connection between the two, but I promise I'll try to do more about it when I return)
Pertemis is granted in this story, and the reason why I find it somewhat possible (if conditions are ripe — you don't just jump into the 2 suddenly having strong feelings for each other, that's not possible if one of them is a maiden goddess...) is because of the following:
So... it's not exactly impossible for such events to take place, as long as the writer doesn't rush things. She'll definitely still be wary of a male even if Percy is different. It's her habit for such a long time so she ought to let her instinct take over at times. End of rant(:
