Author has written 17 stories for Downton Abbey.

About me personally...

In June 2013, I began as a lurker in the Downton stories, basking in all the lovely "Chelsie"ness of it all. I was driven to seeking out Fanfiction by the deplorable lack of Chelsie in the canon series. The stories here inspired me and I thought I should contribute something. I got a little carried away.

I am American and live on the west coast, but I am a founding member of Anglophiles Anonymous. "Hello, my name is Chelsie Dagger and I have an Austen problem. It's been three weeks since I last read Dickens. I started out with a few episodes of 'Are You Being Served' but I was soon mainlining Monty Python at least twice a week..."

About me as a writer...

I have never written or published anywhere else, unless you count some really bad poems in a high school literary mag;)

When I am posting, I try to update at least every other day. I usually will not start to post until the story is at least roughed out to the end and half the content is written. I've broken this rule a few times, but still try to post very regularly.

Reviews are the manna from heaven that brings writers the energy to keep writing. I do not reply to all of the reviews, but I try to reply every few chapters of a story, usually after the more dramatic events of a story. [Note to other writers: I will try to be better with leaving comments, but I am terrible about reading and commenting when I am writing.]

I don't tweet or 'tumble', but I welcome all questions, prompts and criticisms via reviews or PMs.

I am mainly a 'Chelsie' writer, but will branch out if the spirit moves me. I definitely prefer the downstairs stories to the upstairs, but the upstairs is definitely prettier. My favorite non-Chelsie characters are Mrs. Patmore and Lady Violet, for obvious reasons.

I sincerely thank Mr. Fellowes for creating this story and these characters for us to play with. But I must say, I hope his interest in them increases for Series 5.

For those of you keeping score, the following stories are all in the same AU: Training Wheels (1902); Training Wheels: Epilogue (1902); Never Downton Land (1902); Moving Forward (1921); Moving On (1921-22); and the forthcoming Because I Could Not Stop For Death(1903); Perpetual Motion (1922)

Stories in bold are currently being written and should surface soon.

Favorite Carson moments from the series...I'll add to this as I remember.

  • Anything with the Dowager, but especially the exchange about the cocktails, "They look too exciting for too early in the evening, don't you think so, Carson?" "Better avoid it, My Lady."
  • Anything with Mary, but especially when she apologized to him in his room.
  • The story about the six pence and the kiss.
  • "I'd sooner eat broken glass."
  • Baby Sybbie! "No need to get sentimental, Mrs. Hughes."
  • His grunt in the 2013 CS when asked if he can spare James for a picnic.
  • Favorite Hughes moments:

  • "You're building a fire, not inventing it."
  • Elsie and William's interactions
  • Her serious face while riding the carousel at the fair.
  • The, "No, you wouldn't" line.
  • The look at the table after he says he'd sooner eat broken glass.
  • Her defiant, 'Well, I took it and I read it!'/ 'Don't you want to know how he is?' scene
  • The look she gives Charles after giving him the frame.

    Whodunnit? reviews
CRACKFIC! Now that THE CONCERT episode has aired in the US, I'm reposting this drabble independently. It was originally in my Chelsie drabble collection, but there is no Chelsie here, so... SEASON 4, EPISODE 3(UK) or 2(US) SPOILERS. I wrote this because I needed some humor in my life after seeing the episode.

November 1921- An AU series 4. Sequel to Moving Forward- With the house in mourning, Charles and Elsie consider life together and retirement. How will the rest of Downton be affected? Lots of Cora and Robert and Mary as well. Might go T rating later, but will start out mild.

    Training Wheels reviews
1902- Carson and the young Ladies Crawley ride bicycles. A sort of prequel to Moving Forward. This was supposed to be a flashback in that story, but got too big. Where there is Charles, there is Elsie. Be patient. Mostly Fluff. Is it September yet? I do not own these characters, only borrowed them from J. Fellowes

    A Free Man reviews
"He looked at his cell for the last time; a tiny bed, a window that only admitted light 10 minutes of every day. There was a time when he had expected to die here, in that bed. His was a life sentence. The love and persistence of a wonderful woman had changed that reality. He was being released today."

    Moving Forward reviews
Winter 1921- Multichapter speculation that picks up our story immediately following the events of the 2012 Christmas Special (yes, THAT one). Mostly Carson POV. Lots of our favorite butler interacting with everyone, especially our favorite housekeeper. Starts slow, but eventually gives good Chelsie. I do not own these lovely characters.
