Author has written 20 stories for Downton Abbey.
About me personally...
In June 2013, I began as a lurker in the Downton stories, basking in all the lovely "Chelsie"ness of it all. I was driven to seeking out Fanfiction by the deplorable lack of Chelsie in the canon series. The stories here inspired me and I thought I should contribute something. I got a little carried away.
I am American and live on the west coast, but I am a founding member of Anglophiles Anonymous. "Hello, my name is Chelsie Dagger and I have an Austen problem. It's been three weeks since I last read Dickens. I started out with a few episodes of 'Are You Being Served' but I was soon mainlining Monty Python at least twice a week..."
About me as a writer...
I have never written or published anywhere else, unless you count some really bad poems in a high school literary mag;)
When I am posting, I try to update at least every other day. I usually will not start to post until the story is at least roughed out to the end and half the content is written. I've broken this rule a few times, but still try to post very regularly.
Never believe me if I try to predict anything about the length of a fic or the date I'll be launching a new story...I'm abysmal at predicting these things.
Reviews are the manna from heaven that brings writers the energy to keep writing. I do not reply to all of the reviews, but I try to reply every few chapters of a story, usually after the more dramatic events of a story. [Note to other writers: I will try to be better with leaving comments, but I am terrible about reading and commenting when I am writing.]
I don't tweet or 'tumble', but I welcome all questions, prompts and criticisms via reviews or PMs.
I am mainly a 'Chelsie' writer, but will branch out if the spirit moves me. I definitely prefer the downstairs stories to the upstairs, but the upstairs is definitely prettier. My favorite non-Chelsie characters are Mrs. Patmore and Lady Violet, for obvious reasons.
I sincerely thank Mr. Fellowes for creating this story and these characters for us to play with. But I must say, I hope his interest in them increases for Series 5. (My hopes were answered BTW).
For those of you keeping score, the following stories are all in the same AU: Training Wheels (1902); Training Wheels: Epilogue (1902); Never Downton Land (1902); Because I Could Not Stop For Death(1903)Moving Forward (1921); Moving On (1921-22); and the ongoing Perpetual Motion (1922)
In the works...A modern Chelsie AU, at least one more 'young ladies Crawley and Carson' story, Violet in Russia, and some very silly one offs that will be added to 'Stuff and Nonsense.'
Favorite Carson moments from the series...I'll add to this as I remember.
Favorite Hughes moments:
