Hello to all! I have been a ghost on this site for several years (and on portkey.org) and apart from the occasional review, I have been simply quietly enjoying the fan fiction here. As my name suggests, I am indeed a Harry/Hermione shipper when it comes to the Harry Potter series.I am a male American college student, so forgive me if I mess up on any britishisms in my stories. For me, growing up with the Harry Potter books was, simply put, awesome. I still have memories of begging my mother to drive me to the library to pick of the latest Harry Potter book, of rereading the books to the point that I had nearly every page memorized.
Before I step onto a soapbox, I want to stay that I will be attempting my hand at writing a few stories here, so be gentle! :) On a side note, the avatar on my profile represents the exact moment I would die shipping hhr. I had been leaning towards 'harmony' since the first book, solidified by the way Harry worried about the then petrified Hermione and the ensuing hug, but it all culminated when I saw this scene in the third movie. (I can't be the only one who noticed that Warner Bros seemed intent on creating as many hhr moments as possible on the silver screen, right?) Anyway, the way that Harry (or would it be Daniel) protected Hermione (or Emma) from werewolf Lupin was simply beautiful. I know I may get some flack for pulling the movieverse into this, but I feel that that scene would have been a wonderful diving board into a romantic relationship, if JKR had wished it so. But alack, I digress.
Harry/Hermione makes so much more sense to me, not to mention it is much more romantic, than Ginny/Harry. I know that many hg shippers point out that book Hermione is much plainer than Emma, and that book Ginny is supposedly more attractive than Bonnie, but I still cannot support the cannon relationships. I dislike Ron, (book and movie Ron), actually it probably is borderline utter hatred. I do not know where this comes from, but starting in Azkaban, I became bored with his character. It also was the last time he was actually useful until book seven (wtf?). I actually enjoy the evil Ron fics that many hhr shippers write. But enough of my ranting. If anyone ever wishes to discuss more Harry Potter, I would love to! Just PM me or leave me a review of a story and I will get back to you.
