With the "visitors = hits" glitch having finally been fixed, I felt it was high time to fix the biggest problem with my hits tracking--Skin. (Oh, yeah, I spent much of May and on into early June getting current on the hits tracking, because what else was I supposed to do during the pandemic?) And much to my surprise, the total hits are still correct even after I deleted the rogue author's notes masquerading as proper chapters and instead folded them into the story proper. Granted that will almost certainly result in the damned thing surging this month, because it's now "last updated 2/1/2021", but eh, it'll flame out soon enough. Probably. Also, I maintain that Worlds Apart is not dead, so yeah, there's that, maybe. 2/15/20: So I ended up without a single update in 2019. Damn. And yet, I still managed to get just my 12th four-digit single-fic monthly view count in August. I fell behind on my view tracking somewhere around 2016, so I didn't realize that I'd finally managed to get the self-sustaining fic I'd always wanted! (No, Skin doesn't count; if I ever get current on my hits tracking, I might finally delete that one now that I have a legitimate horse. Sadly, The Scarlet Devil doesn't really count either.) Though "always wanted" is perhaps a relative term. See, I'd always hoped I'd strike it big with my Touhou works, or my Nanoha fics, or maybe even Fire Emblem once I saw how automatic it became after Awakening, albeit more in the "quick, brief boost" sense than the "long sustained boost" sense because it's such a popular fandom that things get buried quickly. I openly admitted in the author's notes that I've never played a Danganronpa game in my life, though I guess subconsciously I want to change that since I've been consciously avoiding spoilers for the third game, and yet it seems that View from the Afterlife is to be my crown jewel. Ah, well, at least it's objectively good. 9/8/15: So yeah, I've posted all of one crummy one-shot in the past six-plus months now, and I realized...this is probably the first time in close to a decade and a half that I have no fics that I truly consider to be "on-going". The breakdown: View from the Afterlife was finished in February 2015 and began in December 2014. The Scarlet Devil 2: Scarlet Devil Rhapsody was finished in January 2015 and started in July 2011. (Yes, as long as Lonely No More ended up, it doesn't have to be in the chain because TSD2 started earlier and ended later.) Lyrical Dreams was finished in March 2014 and started in November 2009. (When first working this out, I used TAoT9C and TSD to bridge the gap back from mid-2011 to, well, I really only had to go into early 2011 but TSD got me back into 2010. But LD actually lets me skip a step.) Waiting to Grow Up was last updated in March 2011 (though never technically "finished") and started in April 2009. Dream was last worked on in June 2009 (I think), though much of the progress was lost somewhere in 2013 due to an error on my part when getting my computer worked on, and began in February 2004. (Oh, yeah, it was 2004 that I started it! That's good; I was grasping at straws to bridge a gap in 2004 output, thinking I started work on Dream in 2005.) The Love At Highton View Terrace was last updated in August 2004, but originally pre-dates the creation of my fanfiction . net account, so I can't give an exact start time. I estimate its genesis to be somewhere in 2001...or was that late 2000? It couldn't be much earlier than that, because 02 had already been on for a bit, but... Well, either way, I can make a chain going back roughly 14 years, without even having to worry about technicalities (I did write a little bit of new material when updating Fire Emblem Gets Schooled! in 2012, but that was considered "dead" for a long time, and The Adventures of Team 9 Catering was considered "complete" in 2011 but received a new chapter in 2013). And while a short-range multi gets tacked on at the end to extend it a little longer, I'm able to chain from 2001 to 2015 in only 5 fics. 10/29/13: Okay, finally got around to making a Guide to my Touhou Canon. Here's the "proper order". The Precious Thing precedes Panty Thief, then Panty Thief Omake. Both The Extension and The Drunken Mikos come after Panty Thief Omake, but can be read in either order. The Masochism Tango precedes Imperishable Flame. All of those fics, plus Lyrical Dreams and Fireflies, come before The Scarlet Devil. It Wouldn't Be Twilight Without Them is set between the 2nd and 3rd chapters of The Scarlet Devil. What The Hell Happened Here? is between the 11th and 12th chapters of The Scarlet Devil. The Adventures of Team 9 Catering starts at some point after Chapter 14 of The Scarlet Devil, but you'll probably want to start it before finishing The Scarlet Devil because the Final Chapter(s) of that fic run simultaneous to Chapters 9-10 of The Adventures of Team 9 Catering. Chapters 5-10 are all one continuous event, though, so you probably want to take care of TSD 15-17 before going to Chapter 5 of TAoT9C. Yukkuri Story is more or less standalone, but Chapters 4 and 5 both have short stories that tie into TAoT9C, so if you plan on reading that too, I recommend doing so after Chapter 14 of TAoT9C. The New Guard fits in somewhere after Chapter 17 of the Scarlet Devil and before Chapter 15 of The Adventures of Team 9 Catering. The Divine Lover takes place chronologically before any of the currently existing fics, but should be read after "The New Guard". Moe Field takes place right after Chapter 16 of The Adventures of Team 9 Catering. Just Another Night takes place between Chapters 17 and 18, and it's highly recommended unless you're avoiding the M-rated fics that you read it before reading Chapter 18 of The Adventures of Team 9 Catering. Full Power takes place after the end of The Adventures of Team 9 Catering, but before The Scarlet Devil 2: Scarlet Devil Rhapsody. A full list of chapters with Phantasms: TSD 5, TSD 15, TAoT9C 3, TAoT9C 16, TSD2:SDR 1, TSD2:SDR 6, TSD2:SDR 7, TSD2:SDR 12. Secrets Within and Lord Over Gensokyo are not part of the canon, although the latter is obliquely referenced in TAoT9C 20. Addendum: TSD2:SDR 13 also has a Phantasm; Let It Snow and Spring (in that order) take place at some time after TAoT9C and probably (but not definitely) before TSD2:SDR 4. 12/26/12: Found another "lost fic"; the first chapter's complete, but I'm not sure if I should post it because a fic that I wrote nearly eight years ago is unlikely to get finished, and worse, it's a songfic from a band I probably wouldn't touch nowadays. *reads over the fic anyway* ...Damn. This is actually pretty good for something I wrote in 2005. Might even have to write the conclusion (based on my notes, it was never planned to be more than two chapters anyway.) 1/10/13: ...Or not. I was surprised to see it in a C2 so quickly...then I checked out what it was and decided that it wasn't worth potentially getting modded for. 6/28/12: I dislike the latest change that this site has made. They just changed the reviewing system recently, anyway; this new system is bad. I guess the lack of having to open new windows is nice, but I don't like that the default status is to have both "story alert" and "author alert" checked. I'm actually probably more prone to give a story "favorite story" status than I am to give it "story alert" status, and I always thought it was weird when I got a notification that one of my one-shots had been added to someone's story alert--although admittedly I have occasionally added a new update to something that was initially dubbed "complete", so I guess that's not as weird as it seems. But even more so than story favorite/alert, I'll only add someone to Author Alert if I've determined that I'm probably going to enjoy anything they write, but a lot of authors that write for multiple fandoms, some of the things they write for aren't really my thing, but I still give them a fave for what they've written that is. Restructuring the profile to put the updates in the best order rather than chronological order Not the one I'd been planning before, but I do have a new fanfic, placed neatly in the C2 Community that I belong to...and now that I'm back to being a writer here, it's time to return to my profile. By the way, I absolutely love how the most risque things I write are the ones that draw in the most readers. Even after all of these years, "Skin" is still my biggest draw (which is the only thing that kept it from getting purged when I purged the other crappy stuff), and "My Sakura, My Tomoyo" is regularly coming in second. You're all sick, sick people! XD 8/23/09--Well, it looks like I've finally gotten out of the "Skin" hole--"Waiting To Grow Up" has been regularly kicking its butt. I've also finally got a new lemon up--and no, it's not the FE7 stuff I keep meaning to do. Ah well... 10/27/09--As you can likely see, the first part of my planned FE7 stuff got out shortly after I wrote that. I also changed the profile to take out the apology for not having more current fanfics, because nearly half of my total fanfics were published in August 2008 or later. I just got a new one up, expanding my horizons yet again...damn, I'm really all over the board when it comes to subject matter, huh? 10/28/09--Well, I created a second Touhou fic...it kind of had to be edited for this site, though. My penname on AFF is the same as it is here, if you want to see the real thing. (Note: They do not currently have a section for Touhou! I've already lobbied for this to be remedied. Update 03/15/11--They do now, though it doesn't seem as though many people have contributed to it.) 3/31/11--Waah! In addition to the error messages that come whenever I try to upload a new chapter of something (it's been confirmed that I'm not the only one who has had this problem, although I was able to upload flawlessly this morning so perhaps it's finally fixed), the hits tracker broke down earlier. Being that I am obsessed with both lists (especially rankings) and e-pop, I check my hits regularly, and I know that this is going to throw off my monthly numbers because I uploaded a new fic a number of hours ago and it should have at least a somewhat decent chance of charting for its debut month, even though this is the first time where it takes more than 20 hits to be in the top 25. So far the only fic that ever missed the top 25 in its opening month--and even that came up only one hit short--was Imperishable Flame, which I literally put up in the final hour of a month (although it got a few extra hours since this site's clock apparently is on Pacific Time.) That said...going into this month, I had only managed more than three consecutive days at 100 hits once, a 7-day stretch in the wake of the debut of God's Cry. I tied that seven-day stretch at the beginning of the month, February 28-March 6. And while I can't really put up an accurate total for today because the hits counter broke and it's only showing 66 right now, I'm going to unofficially say that the current streak is still active...a magnificent 19 days, starting on March 13. Hopefully they'll fix this problem soon and I can get a legitimate triple-digit count, even though I know it will be lower than the true total... And while The Scarlet Devil's total for this month still fell well short of the 3200-hit outburst that God's Cry debuted to, it was easily the second-highest total I'd ever had in a month for one story...and with a far better supporting cast than God's Cry had (true, October 2008 had 3 top-50 performances and March 2011 only has two unless Skin had a very good day today, but the support fell off quickly after the top 3 back then), the 2500 hits it pulled in led the way to a total, even before the breakage, of 5,010! By far my best month ever, and the consistency is even more satisfying than the high totals. Consistency...oh shit this is going to bring down the low! The "66" hits that are currently showing would make this at least appear to be the worst day of the month, and while that's still an 11-hit improvement over December 2010's previous record, the legitimate low should be 74. So thank you to everyone who read this! And if any admins are reading this, make this a happy birthday for me and FIX THE TRACKER SOON!! _ 4/1/11--Birthday wish granted. Judging by how high the hit count is, they must have put back everything from the lost period...and I'm willing to chalk it up to heavy traffic all around the site as a result of that other error being fixed and writers flocking to upload everything they'd had in storage over the dead period, because my birthday turned out to be the best day of the month! 377 total, my sixth-highest ever (the top five were all days on which I'd posted chapters of God's Cry), pushing March's total to 5321, nearly 1000 better than my previous record. My new fic had no trouble charting, tying for 13th, and everything has been set right. 8/18/11--Oh, bother; looks like I'm going to have to petition them for more Touhou characters again. I understand not having the Ten Desires characters available yet, but no Nue? Anyway, as for the constant quest for hits, July was the first month where I stayed in triple-digits all calendar month even though it was a lower total than the four months preceding it, pretty much proving to me that I've done enough that it will maintain itself without many updates. It's now been over two full months. Age: 31 Sex: If you would be so kind... Gender: Male. And in regards to the previous line, straight. Location: New Jersey. I swear, it's not as disgusting as it's made out to be! Dominant Genres: Romance, Humor Favorite Pairings: Giving lists are so boring. Instead, some general thoughts. I refuse to let the apparent separation of the various Fire Emblem games get in the way of creating couplings. I think that sometimes viable pairings can emerge even without an in-game support conversation chance. (Sain x Farina, though on the previous point, wouldn't Farina and Rennac be perfect for one another?) I will go with more canon pairings when necessary, but believe that an awful lot of the 01/02 characters work best in slash pairings.(Taito forever!) ...But my favorite Digimon pairing is very much canon (Takari), although, I will express interest in the complete love triangle...and I do mean "complete". And if you checked out that new story, and the C2 it is (and I am) in, you'll see that I fully believe that Sheena and Zelos are meant to be together. Although it seems doomed to never get off the ground (it's been in my head for years now), I'll tell you about one of my other ideas: A FE7/ToS crossover. For one thing, look at it this way: Sain flirts with every girl he meets and fails. Zelos flirts with every girl he meets, and succeeds. Sense a possible mentor/pupil thing here? Then for even more chaos, I was going to throw in the gang from Inuyasha, bringing a third lecher to the table...and creating some crazy crossover pairings. I really have to do that. I'm really looking forward to Miroku asking Sheena to bear his children. snickers Not that it'll ever happen, because in spite of my only Inuyasha fic being a Kagome/Sango yuri, my number one Inuyasha pairing is Miroku/Sango. Apparently, that pairing eventually became canon to the show, but I picked up on it long before that happened... Now that you've finished reading my profile, get your lazy ass over to fictionpress and see what I can really do when not constrained by copyrighted characters! 10/6/08--Something seems to actually be working, at least right off the bat--which naturally means it's doomed. XP As usual, I'm stuck...this time I made it to Chapter 5. Nearly got stuck one chapter earlier, but then I figured it out--and it moves things in a different direction than it originally appeared. No, not a twist--just indecision on my part. Right now, it's rated T, but there's still a chance that it'll end up the way "Skin" should've been--with one version here and a different version at . If that does end up the case, I'll tell you so. (Yes, I've joined up there. So far, all I've got up there is "My Sakura, My Tomoyo"--unchanged from the version here, which means it's pretty tame for AFF.) 10/7/08--Wait, what? I just looked at my profile, and it seems to have my "location" very much confused. It had the right country when I checked a few days ago...didn't it? 10/11/08--And now it's back to normal. In case it goes weird again, I'll restate it here: United States of America. I'll even go one more specific: New Jersey. Oh, wait, I already said that above. 4/4/08--Been awhile, I know. Didn't realize I'd already mentioned the crossover, though I think it might go more smoothly with just FE7 and ToS. I've got a couple of other possibilities, too--another idea that's been hanging around for awhile, which is an FE7 yuri pairing, and also a possible FE10 pairing. Anyway, I figure that if you're here at my profile, one of these things must've happened. In order of what I believe to be most likely to least likely: 1. I buried you in an ocean of reviews, and you just had to find out a bit more about this crazy rambling reviewer. Especially because there's also a fairly good chance that I flirted with you. Well, here I am. 2. You put in certain parameters (rating, character pairing, etc.) and came upon "Skin". By the sheer volume of my reviews that come from that one story, I figure that it must fit into a fairly exclusive niche, to which I say...Pervert! :) Yeah, it's not exactly one of my favorites, but I'm narcissistic enough to keep it up there, generating more reviews than all of my other stories combined. Of course, if you're into the yuri-type pairings, I'd like to direct you to Conn. A&M--also on fictionpress. Another one that may or may not be taken much further, especially with reality's time having caught up to the story's. 3. You found me through the Sheelos Lovers of Fanfiction C2. Good for you. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how likely it is that I'll be finishing off those incomplete stories. 4. One of those incomplete ideas has actually been realized. Yes, that's to be considered the least likely scenario. I haven't even been writing much of Dream lately, much less any fanfics. So if that's out of the way, can I get back to flirting with you? XP 3/07 (?)--I'm so excited! I'm finally putting up my masterpiece, Dream! You can check it out at fictionpress dot com; my pen name there is the same as it is here. Take note of that! I also have a slightly more complete profile there. Dream is finally up! Latest update: Chapter 220 On top of that, I've got a new fanfic coming up, but with my history of getting stuck, I'm not going to commit to putting it up until I can be sure that it's going to work. 3/20/07--Changed the link in my profile to take people to my fictionpress account, now with two stories! The more recent creation is, in my opinion, the result of a lot of frustrations, not to mention a bit of insanity. In what is fact, not opinion, it was inspired by Spring Break spent in Florida going to Spring Training games, and most of it would then be chronologically before the original event in my head, which of course is not even going to be in the story. The main characters, well, in a peculiar bit of irony, although I'd imagine different people have different traits that they like in people and could choose either one to favor over the other, the one I like more is not the one you'd expect if you based it solely on team allegiances. Crazy, isn't it? 8/20/08--A couple of new stories have gone up: One here, one on fictionpress. Anyone who already knew me probably isn't surprised that I'm a Twilight fan (Jacob's not the only one who imprinted on Renesmee :P), and I'm hoping that the popularity of it gets me some new readers. "Angels on Earth", the new fictionpress fiction, is also a one-shot, and a bit of a bizarre one (as usual). Dream continues to preoccupy much of my time, but Conn. A&M isn't dead yet, either! 8/25/08--Wow. That didn't take long. Really hoping that "A Different Shape" turns out okay. 9/1/08--I seem to be in a particularly productive stretch. Time to clean out some of the junk from my portfolio. 9/1/11--When I went off to college, I got a new laptop, and I gave my old laptop to my sister. Now that she's going off to college, she's got a brand newe laptop as well, and we're cleaning out the old one. Most of the saved files corresponding to later chapters of earlier fics were just a heading and no content, but there was one for a Chapter 11 of Unconditional Love, which means there are at least two complete chapters unpublished! As soon as I get my current laptop back, I'll put them up. 6/10/07--Usually too lazy to put any of these into my profile, but... You know you live in the year 2000 when... 1.) You accidentaly enter you password on a microwave. 2.) You haven't played solitare with real cards for years 3.) The reason for not staying in touch with your friends is they dont have a screenname or my space 4.) You'd rather look all over the house for the remote instead of just pushing the buttons on the TV 6.) Your boss doesn't even have the ability to do your job. 7.) As you read this list you keep nodding and smiling. 8.) As you read this list you think about sending it to all your friends. 9.) and you were too busy to notice number 5. 10.) You scrolled back up to see if there was a number 5. 11.) Now you are laughing at yourself stupidly. 12.) Put this in your profile if you fell for that, and you know you did. 6/14/07--Whoa, I have fans now! XD Man, this was quite the unexpected turnout. ADHD type that I am, I've already got another one-shot idea, coming soon, despite still working on a multi. Also, I forgot about one other place to send you to look at my work. On this site, check the penname "CyberChaosChampion"; it's a joint account that I have with another author, ChaosChampion, on which we are collaborating on a Digimon fic, "Blood Lust". That's all for now. 10/14/10--Wow...I've really been out of it, haven't I? It took my sister returning to re-read "Fall For You" for me to even realize that I never changed over the age on my profile to 21. FYI: I'm now closer to my 22nd birthday than I am to my 21st. Ah heh heh... -_-' 11/2/10--Got some more: If you've ever had a mad laughing fit for no reason, copy and paste this into your profile.
