Author has written 7 stories for Naruto.
October 21st note: "Did you die during surgery...?" Nope. Am I okay? Nope. I talked about it on tumblr a little and may in SFU's upcoming chapter. I am nowhere near recovered, so no ETA on chapter three yet.
October 9th note: For those that don't read author's notes, I'm going for surgery on the 12th, so it's not looking likely that I'll be able to update SFU by the 14th or 15th. I'll try my best to rewrite, edit, go over it with a beta, and get it uploaded as soon as I'm able. Want to make your author feel better? Toss a review, lmao. I ain't even joking. Give me something nice to read while I'm recovering and I will treasure you forever. (:
Regarding Starting Out at Six Feet Under:
Now reposted. It was previously deleted earlier this year to due to harassment. I won't be tolerating any of that stupidity this time around.
I'm datsonyat. I'm of the female persuasion and in my mid-twenties. See, I used to have a line here about feeling ashamed of writing fanfiction at my age, but you know what? I'm now shameless, I will discuss it with anyone that asks. There is no shame in writing fanfic regardless of your age if that's what you enjoy, and I'm glad I could realize that sooner than later.
I started writing fanfiction when I was thirteen, but dropped it years later in favour of writing an original novel. That novel has now been deleted, so please stop asking me for the link, aha.
I find fanfiction substantially more challenging than original works, so I've decided to come back to it. Currently, I only write for Naruto (publicly; I may consider publishing my Digimon and Mass Effect fics at some point). Concrit is my best friend. You will be my new best friend if you give me concrit.
If you haven't noticed, I really love the Self-Insert OC genre, heh.
I love to chat, so shoot me a PM if you'd like to discuss fanfic! Want to bounce ideas off each other, or want advice/opinion on something? I'm your lady! I can be your idea beta or something. c: You can also reach me on Skype; my handle there is also datsonyat.
I suffer from chronic illnesses and am considered disabled. I tell you this not to garner pity or sympathy, only so that you may understand that this is the cause of my slow or nonexistent updates. Blame that on my inability to update frequently, seriously.
I am also on AO3, DeviantArt, and tumblr under the same username.
Why do I write really cliché and overdone stuff?
I'm late to the party and I really like the ideas! Some of what I intend to write/have written, I haven't seen done yet so it'll be interesting to see how it plays out.
What you should know about my fics:
· If you are uncomfortable with F/F, M/M, polyamory, and the variety of other relationship types and sexualities that exist, my fics may not be for you as each fic will likely feature at least one of these. I will usually leave a warning in an author's note or in the pairings tag if one of these is going to happen.
· Kaguya will never see the light of day in any of my fanfiction, thus the AU tag on all of my stories. Sorry Kaguya fans, but I can't handle Kishi shoehorning in such a one-dimensional, awful villain. It's unlikely anything Kishi threw at us in the last year will be used much, if at all, in my fanfics. (I'm looking at you, Black Zetsu, you SOB.)
· I don't believe the first person you date/have a crush on is your destined true love. That's just not realistic. Most of my characters will go through various love interests—OC or canon—unless circumstances make it impossible.
Anemone: Semi-active? I apparently can't do a drabble series without the perfectionism demanding it be turned into something more.
Becoming Lady Luck: Inactive/complete. Please see the new version of the same title under the account luckypals. It is now being written by both myself and jiemae.
Disciple: Hiatus. Plotted extensively to the end, but I'm unsure of my ability and drive to take it there.
Living Dead Girl: Active again. Don't expect auto-updates, but it's being worked on.
Untitled (upcoming): A self-insert oneshot featuring Kakuzu. 75% complete.
Starting Out at Six Feet Under: Active again. Will update once a week until I run out of pre-written content. Definitely trying to get back into this. A beta would be awesome.
See something above that you want continued? A wise friend once said to me, "I want the readers to be excited and to want to go on this journey with me." Vote with your reviews and PMs as it's the only way I know people want certain stories continued, and support is the best way to increase my output speed. Ghost readers, your opinions—be they a single sentence or word—often mean the world to us writers, so absolutely speak up! Your words really do make a difference.
"Please be aware that what you are reading is not your property so don't pester writers about updating but instead just leave little supportive messages if it looks like an author really needs the push. But don't be demanding, because again, you don't have the right to whatever it is they are posting." – jiemae, low-key standing up for authors everywhere and telling readers proper etiquette.
"People who just consume, people who are accustomed to the want/take/get/have mentality but don't understand the effort put into creating, just do not understand how difficult it can be for writers and authors to create." – CompYES, on the disconnect between some readers and authors and the attitude directed at updating.
"From all your loving readers, we want you to know that we respect any decision you make regarding your works, whether it be leaving them on hiatus or taking them down completely if you are no longer happy or comfortable with them, and that we thank you for all the amazing, hilarious, and fun times you brought to us solely by being yourself, writing from your heart, and generally just being an all around cool person
(from basically any person who has a heart and soul and respect for other people)
