Author has written 2 stories for Fire Emblem, and Devil May Cry.
First Post ?/?/2013 (Sometime in July?)
I'm Zepper! Real name notwithstanding. Nice to meet you! Contrary to popular belief, I'm not an old fart. Just turned 16, in fact. On July 16th, if you care. I'm not too interesting, but I'll tell you what I can.
I used to love to read. Then, suddenly, every book I read became uninteresting. (Is that presumptuous? Probably.) Now I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place, searching for interesting books. I've recently stumbled upon Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, which has been slaking my need for comedic sci-fi after I finished Star Trek TOS. So... I guess there's that. I've also run into (Wait. Have ran. I have ran. I have run? Shoot.) this interesting phenomenon called fan fiction. Cool, huh? If you have any books you'd like to recommend, please do! Let me warn you, however, I've read A LOT of the YA stuff out there. (Perhaps that's why I've become so cynical. *Sigh* House of Night, why did I bother?) Perhaps I should list some good books, no? Crime and Punishment truly moved me. It was interesting debating whether or not the epilogue was a good addition. (I've come to the conclusion that it wasn't a mere "addition". It was a part of the actual story that needed to be manifested upon paper. Otherwise, Raskolnikov's dynamic change would not have been so severe and beautiful - not to mention epiphany-inducing.) The Abhorsen Trilogy, more for the world and its lore than anything else, because I didn't really enjoy the plot, nor the characters. Oh, and the Trigun manga, if those are considered books.
I love anime (some of it). Among my favorites are Trigun, Howl's Moving Castle (which was a book first, might I add - a good one) and Jyu Oh Sei (but the ending sucked, and episode 9. Worst episode ever.). I'm also an avid believer in the power of music, with favorite bands like Black Sabbath (first few albums only), Led Zeppelin, and Solitude Aeturnus. Don't worry, I like the light stuff, too. Elton John, Neil Young, The Band ("Virgil, quick, come see, there goes Robert E. Lee[...] You take what you need and leave the rest, but they should never have taken the very best." Oh, those lyrics. THOSE LYRICS!!). Recommend a band to me! Anything but Indie stuff. Independent labels are fine, but the genre itself? No. Just... no. Additionally, I have a strong dislike for anything fake folk/pop... or mildly so. That means you, James Taylor. Bob Dylan, too.
Oh, VIDEO GAMES!! How could I forget??
Mass Effect, DA:Origins, Portal, Assassin's Creed (The Ezio Arc, the rest are just cash-ins), Baldur's Gate
And in case anyone needs clarification: Fire Emblem: Awakening
I hope you enjoy my current fic :)
I should note my profile picture was taken by my sister. She captured it during her trip with my father to the Chinese Garden in Missouri. I'd put a link to her other photos on here, but I'm unsure as to whether or not that is allowed under the FanFic website guidelines.
Wow. I really haven't changed at all. Granted, it's been a quarter year, but still. I have pretty much the same taste in music and everything. But I have discovered a new love for anything by Saint-Saens. Really bombastic stuff, too, like Grieg's In the Hall of the Mountain King. Can't stand Morning, though. Even though they're from the same suite, I just don't like Morning. Odd, huh?
More video games I really like!
Devil May Cry 3 (I'm more than halfway through 4 and am not liking it as much.)
Planescape: Torment (I'm not too far in this one, but I'll get back to it soon. I love the atmosphere!)
Skyrim/Oblivion (Surprisingly, I've never really liked Morrowind. Don't ask me why, 'cause I have no clue. Maybe it's because I kept getting killed by these land-jellyfish things only three hours in. Yup, that'd do it.)
Age of Empires III: The Asian Dynasties [I always play as the Japanese ;)]
I just realized I should have even more useless information about myself on here, so y'all can get a feel for the kind of geek I am.
I'm a female! I can play - and finish - Dragon Age II on Nightmare (*cough* the hardest difficulty setting *cough*). I can't stand eggplant. I'm not fit, but nor am I overweight. I like warm cider more than hot chocolate. RPGs where you can create your own character are my favorite, but when the game pushes a personality on you, I get IRRITATED! (Fire Emblem: Awakening does this, by the way.)
Yup, that's about it for now. I'll be back with more needless information no one cares about within the start of the new year, I'm sure. If not: Happy Halloween; Happy Football Day . . . uh, I mean Thanksgiving; Happy Hanukkah; Happy Kwanzaa; Happy New Year (of the non-Chinese variety. I have no idea when those guys celebrate their New Year :P Something to do with the moon, I bet, 'cause they have a lunisolar calendar).
Jeez, enough rambling already!
Well, howdy there, you mighty fine patrons. And here I figured I wouldn't be visiting this here saloon till way yonder in time.
I just thought I should mention that I recently started a new fanfic for the Devil May Cry universe. If you haven't checked it out already, please do :) How rude of me, to self-advertise. Shame on me. On another note, I gave up on reading Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy a long time ago. A few days after I wrote that profile update, actually. I know. I'm horrible.
I wonder what the word limit for profiles is? The way I'm going, I'll probably use it up before 2015. Eh well.
One year ago and this day was special. But this year it's as mundane as any other. Interesting how things like that happen, and how trivial supposedly special days become.
Sorry for not updating Et Tu, My Love for a month. I'll be there, just give me a while. Things have been fairly hectic lately, and we (meaning my family and I) may be moving to another country soon. Key words: may be. So hopefully that'll happen :P I really wanna explore foreign territory. Additionally, I have finals next week. Yippee.
Right now, I'm currently working on Dreams of Another Realm and various short stories. Well, not right now, right now, you smart aleck, you. I am indeed, as of this moment in time, updating my profile. In addition to the new DMC story and those short stories I spoke of, I'm studying study guides. Can't forget those terrific study guides. Oh finals, how I dislike thee. I know they're important and all, but you have to sit in a room for four hours straight and try to prove to your teacher you've absorbed what they've taught you, as though you couldn't do that in class regularly through meaningful participation. *Sigh*. Don't worry, I promise, I'll get back to Nocht's journey ;) I won't leave y'all hanging, not now, when the plot has finally been manifested.
Have a good day, if the sun's out where you are. If it's the time for farther away stars to shine, well, then goodnight to you fine sirs and madams. I hope your dreams aren't as scary as the one I had the other night. Yeesh.
But my easily incited fear is completely beside the point.
Woooooooooooah. Long time no see . . .
Yes, I'm still active. No, I don't mean physically. I don't have much to say, other than hello.
I've played through ME2 and 3 recently, both on Insanity. (ME2's way harder, by the way. So if you wanna play through them just for the gameplay, I recommend that you play 3 first so that you don't wind up bored outta yo mind.) Gotta say, I like the Vanguard from ME2 a heck of a lot more than the Vanguard from ME3. Something about how overpowered biotics are in ME3 just pushes my buttons. It's really boring to use that fail-safe biotic combo all adepts/vanguards/other classes-with-advanced-powers have. The devs should utilize a style system in the next game, because then you wouldn't get points for repetitive combos. Like from Devil May Cry! Now that would be awesome combat. Third-person cover-based shooter with a style meter? Yes, please. I bet the Vanguards would get allllll the style points.
