Author has written 18 stories for Silmarillion.
Long time Tolkien fan, now studying languages&linguistics at university partially due to Tolkien's inspiration. I used to write LotR fanfiction as a teen, now suddenly inspired to write again, this time about the Silmarillion.
I'm especially interested in exploring and giving voices to Tolkien's 'textual ghosts' – characters, mostly women, who exist in the canon but about whom very little is known. For now I seem to be obsessed with the sons of Fëanor, those wonderful, terrible tragedy magnets, and their semi-canonical wives who belong to the category of textual ghosts.
I write gen as well as romance fics, mostly F/M romance. I like writing both fluff and angst, sometimes even within the same story. Some of my fics are rather introspective, with relatively little dialogue and plenty of exploration of feelings. This is on purpose.
All of my fics are canon compliant, either exploring only canon events and characters, or at most adding some elements or characters that 'slip between the cracks of canon', not contradicting anything Tolkien wrote. Tolkien's canon being as messy as it is, though, I do sometimes have to choose which source texts to use, and my interpretation of characters may be different from yours.
The best website to read my fics is Archive of Our Own (AO3). I can't link to it but my username there is the same as here and you can easily find my profile by googling the search terms 'AO3' and 'Elesianne'.
There are some fics of mine on AO3 that I won't post here (some M-rated fics with a bit more sexual content, fics that are slightly headcanon-y). Fewer restrictions on AO3 also mean that I can link to relevant references, meta ramblings of mine etc. as well as reply to comments on the fic page, which enables more reader-writer interaction.
Other accounts: I cross-post my fics also to Tumblr (blog url elesianne) and DeviantArt (username Elysianna). My Tumblr also contains occasional headcanons and meta by me as well as lots of reblogged, funny/pretty/thought-provoking Tolkien-related content. It's also a good place to come ask me questions (anonymously if you wish) if you're wondering about something in my fics or just want to say hello.
