Author has written 4 stories for Charmed, and Harry Potter.
I am a research scientist (atmospheric science and astrophysics, mainly) in my 20s who has an avid love for fanfiction, philosophy, and new ideas written right. I used to write and loved writing, but I never find the time any more to get back into any of my old stories, despite having several of them storyboarded several chapters ahead. I fear my ideas tend to be bigger than my writing skills, so if anyone wants to take over any of my Charmed or BTVS fanfiction ideas, feel free!
For all those budding writers out there, I say: PLEASE continue writing. Writing fanfiction is actually very useful. It will help you in writing essays, papers, short stories, emails to colleagues (i.e., pretty much EVERYTHING). I learned so much of my grammar and "idea progression" from writing and reading fanfiction. Try your hand at editing another writer's stories, too -- it will help you in your own writing, having seen the mistakes in others' writing and having fixed them. Plus, writing fanfiction keeps your love of the fandom alive, and all love is worth working for.
