"Everything is true. Everything anyone has ever thought."
-Philip K. Dick
"Fan-fiction isn't copying - its a celebration. One long party, from the first capital letter to the last full stop."
"Fan-fiction is what literature would look like if it was re-invented from scratch after a nuclear apocalypse by a band of brilliant pop-culture junkies trapped in a sealed bunker. They don't do it for the money. They do it for the satisfaction."
"So crack its cocaine!"

Hey, I'm Fanwright and I'm a reader, writer, and reviewer of fan-fiction.
My user name is a portmanteau between the words "fan" and "wright". "Fan" means a person who has a strong interest or admiration for something or someone. "Wright" means a maker or builder of anything that person wishes to create. I thought it was appropriate because we, as fans, have a strong attachment and admiration for the settings and characters we love and strive to create stories around them.
I like stories that leave you feeling uplifted, having endured hell to finally see the light of day. I like stories filled with humor, crude or clever, because a boisterous laugh is more healthy than a bitter sigh. I like stories that take you to the far side of the world, to far flung places, where the journey and the experience is more important than the destination. I like stories of self-discovery and redemption, where characters learn more about each other and grow. I like gritty noir, moody westerns, nail-biting action. Basically, I like stories.
Avatar: The Last Airbender is my main fandom. I absolutely love the universe Mike and Bryan have created and have come to appreciate it more through fan-fiction. So, like any fan of A:TLA I've grown attached to characters, places, and even nations from the show.
My other fandoms include Portal, Half-Life, Valkyria Chronicles, the Fallout universe, Red Dead, and the Mass Effect universe.
I'm a history buff, sci-fi fan, air-soft enthusiast, movie lover, and haiku lover. Though I like many movies and shows, films by Sergio Leone, Akira Kurosawa, and Tarantino hold a special place for me.
My favorite nation is the Earth Kingdom and many of my favorite places from the show are here. So much potential for stories to be based in this part of the A:TLA world, so much history to draw upon to inspire writers. It has war, survival, intrigue, love, triumph, and strength through endurance. Keep the lush jungles and black sand beaches of the Fire Nation, keep the white tundra and the icy blue waters of the Tribes. Its the shifting dunes, towering mountains, and jade-green pagodas of the Earth Kingdom for me!
My favorite characters are Azula and Sokka. For many reasons, Sokkla is my OTP. I also root for them as a volatile, butt-kicking duo, bitter rivals, and a quirky pair of platonic friends. Just as long as there is a story with them in it together I'd be okay with it.
That's not to say they're my only favorite characters. There's Mai, Suki, Piandao, June, Long-Shot, and a host of others as well. Got a thing for small ships I suppose.
