Author has written 15 stories for Silence of the Lambs/Hannibal, Phantom of the Opera, and Harry Potter. Picture for "Memento Amori" Chapter 14: http:///wiki/Image:BritishLibraryInterior02.jpg I am proud to be the beta-reader for "Erik: the Vampire Hunter The Continuing Adventures" by Elektra1 UPDATED: March 9, 2008 My official webite: Come one come all and follow the continuing adventures of the immensely talented Phantom and Christine couple Gary Mauer and Elizabeth Southard. It has been approved by both of them and there are tons of great pics. Now for the bio proper... Greetings from San Francisco, land of eternal wind! For the newbies to the Story of my Life (and for the strange ones that enjoy reading about me repeatedly), I'm a recent grad who majored in economics. Writing's my second life, and most of my friends don't even know I do it. Still, I've been doing it all my life and wasn't about to let my major get in the way. I began writing for over eight years, everything from fanfic to original fic to research dissertations. My fanfic: COMPLETE: Serpensortia: Harry Potter - Perhaps my favorite one-shot I've written for any fandom. This is a post-DH story, mostly complaint although it ignores the Epilogue. It's funny, light, and has an extremely unique POV. Memento Amori: Harry Potter - The favorite of my literary offspring. Severus Snape/Hermione Granger. I'll say it again, Snape/Hermione. Don't say I didn't tell you ahead of time, although I've done my damnedest to keep them both strictly in character. This is my most ambitious undertaking to date, it's not as long as Labyrinth, but it's infinitely more complex. Narrative structure is based on Christopher Nolan's genius movie Memento, which tells a story chronologically backwards. My fic tells a story from both ends...for fear of giving too much away, I'll just say that there are enough surprises in it to make that Sixth Sense director happy. More Than a Dream: Harry Potter - Yet more proof that fluffy one-shots always go down better with readers than angst. Not that I'm complaining... this quasi-fluffy one-shot is dear to me. Inspired by Deathly Hallows... so no reading unless you've finished the book... and is my way of giving Snape a break in a believable, in-character fashion. Can be considered HG/SS if you like. In This Labyrinth: Phantom - This magnum opus has recently fallen out of favor in my eyes and I will be taking it down eventually. Overall, I'm unhappy with how the story seems disjointed at times and thinking that I really should have planned the entire thing out from the get-go. Still, it was a massive labor of love and I still remember the majority of it fondly. Infection: Phantom - Angst-fic masquerading at first as E/OC. Don't worry...nobody you know dies. There is disfigurement, madness, hot tempers, and a helluva twist at the end. And only four chapters, so give it a read! Ambrosia: Phantom - A one-shot entry for the first PFN morbidity contest. I can't honestly say how I came up with the eventual idea. It is very different from the rest of my fare and I would promise never to write something so depressing again if it weren't also so uplifting at the same time. It's a paradox and my favorite thing I've written for this fandom. Sunburn: Phantom - A one-shot poem that kind of poured out of me. It's short and bittersweet. A Long Walk to Forever: Phantom - By far my most popular "ph"ic and it's not too hard to see why. It's fluffy, it's a one-shot and it's pure sap without the stickiness since it was inspired by Vonnegut. In my opinion, not as attention-worthy as Labyrinth, but a nice light-hearted read. Then again, who listens to the author;) And despite the high demand, there is no sequel in the works, sorry! But I do think it ends better the way it does. The Road Less Traveled By: Hannibal - Kinda weird, lol, that's the only way to describe it. A fic comprised entirely of dialogue...finished about six months after it was started and abandoned. Writing is decent if a bit...weird at times. Looking Death in the Eye: Hannibal - The closest thing to a Mary Sue fic I've ever written, and if I were slightly more embarrassed I'd take it down for good. But people seemed to like it, and plotwise, it's more of an anti-Mary Sue than anything. Wonderland: Hannibal - A song fic based on my favorite song at the time. Fluffy, kinda pointless and completely out-of-character. But hey, sometimes we all need fic like that, no? Silver Moonlight: Hannibal - Want to read me waxing poetic? This is the best example of it you'll find. Only the Beginning: Hannibal - I have, shall we say mixed feelings about this. A sappy romance angst before I knew how to do them properly. Sounds completely and utterly mawkish to me overall, although it has some good moments. Still, my first ever serious fic. Capture: Hannibal - The first fic I ever wrote. You know how it is, you get one scene in your head and you write from that. So, that's basically all it is, one really good scene and kind of random tangents leading up to it before I knew how to write. Reading over it now, I can snippets of what made me continue writing after what was supposed to be a one-time dabble. Good ideas...so I wanted to learn how to better implement them. Which I hope I have...read Labyrinth! Okay, end shameless self-promotion, back to your daily lives... |
