My Fanfic Writing (Last Updated 8/1/15)
Since finishing Imperfectly Forged I intended to go into fanfic hibernation for a while to focus on my original work, but I got a bad bug and blitzed out a 9-chapter Magic Kaito novella that I had been sitting on for months. It's something I came up with while working on Imperfectly Forged, but I couldn't touch it because Imperfectly Forged was taking up all my fanfic-ing time.
Once it was done, the novella pretty much demanded to be written, and I did it fast so I could get it out of the way and back to drafting my other writing. Then from here on I'll revise on Saturdays before posting.
"The Unpromised Future" was really hard to classify when picking a genre category on FF.net. It will have romance elements, but is not a romance. It has funny moments, but it's not intended to be humor. So I settled on adventure, because I figure if nothing else, it should be fun.
I retired from fanfiction a long time ago and never expected to return, but in coming back to it I've come to realize why I started writing in the first place. I love certain characters and want to tell stories about them.
This is a new pen name for me. I still want a clean break from who I was in the past and who I currently write my original work as (though if you are looking to hire me for a project you have, feel free to privately ask for my credits as I have done work-for-hire and am willing to do it again). For now, this is my little secret, and I've told no one who knows me from my other writing that I'm doing this again.
Since I started writing I've completed over a hundred short stories, over twenty novellas, and seven novels (between both fanfiction and original work). Because I already do original writing in my spare time, and I really appreciate the extra income, my fanfics as Alisa Yang might be conceivably thrown on the backburner in favor of something that actually covers bills, but my promise as a writer is that they will be finished.
It's my personal philosophy that it is a disservice to the reader to leave something unfinished for a long period of time, so my typical work habit is to post a new chapter every week barring unforeseen events or when traveling. I've held to this for all my fanfics on FF.net and don't plan to break it any time soon.
