Hi there, I'm KeyWillow and this is my profile. Welcome to my abode!
I am not a native English speaker so my writing skills may or may not reflect upon that. Apologies in advance.
I am currently studying at the University to become a teacher so my updates may be a bit erratic but I try not to upload anything new until I have at least a few chapters going. Also, unless it is specifically stated otherwise in the story summary then it is still ongoing, even though I may not have updated in a while (or, you know, forever). School is really busy sometimes and I kind of lose track of things from time to time.
See you all in fanfiction World!
So my friend told me I desperately needed something else on my profile page and she suggested quotes. These are in no way in any particular order - just a bunch of quotes I've accumulated over the years.
I thoroughly disapprove of duels. If a man should challenge me, I would take him kindly and forgivingly by the hand and lead him to a quiet place and kill him. (Mark Twain)
Some day you will be old enough to start reading fairy tales again. (C.S. Lewis)
Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit; Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad. (Brian Gerald O’Driscoll)
The trouble with being punctual is that nobody’s there to appreciate it. (Franklin P. Jones)
When you are describing,
"For instance, on the planet Earth, man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much — the wheel, New York, wars and so on — whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time. But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man — for precisely the same reasons." (Douglas Adams)
Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea. (Robert A. Heinlein)
Some people never go crazy. What truly horrible lives they must lead. (Charles Bukowski)
Even if you are on the right track, you’ll get run over if you just sit there. (Will Rogers)
A children's story that can only be enjoyed by children is not a good children's story in the slightest. (C.S. Lewis)
"What I say is, a town isn't a town without a bookstore. It may call itself a town, but unless it's got a bookstore it knows it's not fooling a soul." (Neil Gaiman)
"The moment you doubt whether you can fly, you cease for ever to be able to do it." (J. M. Barrie)
"All children, except one, grow up. They soon know that they will grow up, and the way Wendy knew was this. One day when she was two years old she was playing in a garden, and she plucked another flower and ran with it to her mother. I suppose she must have looked rather delightful, for Mrs Darling put her hand to her heart and cried, ‘Oh, why can’t you remain like this for ever!’ This was all that passed between them on the subject, but henceforth Wendy knew that she must grow up. You always know after you are two. Two is the beginning of the end." (J. M. Barrie)
"Do you know," Peter asked, "why swallows build in the eaves of houses? It is to listen to the stories." (J. M. Barrie)
“Begin at the beginning," the King said, very gravely, "and go on till you come to the end: then stop.” (Lewis Carroll)
“My dear, here we must run as fast as we can, just to stay in place. And if you wish to go anywhere you must run twice as fast as that.” (Lewis Carroll)
“I wonder if I've been changed in the night. Let me think. Was I the same when I got up this morning? I almost think I can remember feeling a little different. But if I'm not the same, the next question is 'Who in the world am I?' Ah, that's the great puzzle!” (Lewis Carroll)
I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best. (Marilyn Monroe)
