A sequel to "Alpine Interlude" which tells of the lives of the Bransons, the Crawleys, and the Schönborns during the Coronation Year of 1937, culminating with a visit by the Bransons and the Schönborns to Downton Abbey in December of that same year. But, nothing is quite what it seems. And while there are storm clouds abroad, there are also problems which are rather closer to home.

Downton Abbey, Christmas 1931. The Bransons and Crawleys foregather to celebrate the festive season and then an unexpected visitor arrives, all the way from Austria. Meanwhile Cora, Dowager Countess of Grantham, widowed earlier in the year, has begun seeing Robert's ghost about the abbey. Not that she dare say anything, for fear of being packed off in disgrace to the Dower House.

A look at the first year of Tom and Sybil's marriage. There's adjustments to be made by both and the growing turbulence in Dublin is challenging as is their relationship with the Crawleys.

Sybil, following in her mother's footsteps, becomes a nurse and also falls in love in the midst of war.

One night his chore of driving Violet and Isobel home turns into something far different and much better than the new Downton chauffeur imagined it would.

So, just how was it that Max, Friedrich and Edith's elder son came to be such an accomplished dancer? Set both before and during WWII. A short companion piece to my other stories, telling the lives of the Bransons, the Crawleys and the Schönborns 1918-1945 and beyond. The idea for this tale came from the opening sequence of the film "Photographing Fairies".

Will they be able to move on together or will their pasts hold them back?

After Bertie leaves Downton, he travels to Tangiers and then returns to Brancaster Castle. He has lots of time to think about how things ended with Edith.
