Author has written 5 stories for Mass Effect.
Rough draft: 87.9k words, est. 20% finished (target: 420k words)
Goal: Complete final draft by June 2016
Status: Rough draft is progressing again after I resolved several subplots that were giving me headaches. ME2 is a huge beast of a storyline- difficult enough to get my arms around without considering the material I want to add to the baseline plot. And I seem to wind up adding another chapter every time I sit down to write, so the projected length continues to grow. However, I'm really glad that I decided to not release chapters as I go; there have been so many changes to the opening chapters I dread what would've happened if I'd been more "locked in". Undoubtedly some of the material will be condensed when I do a formal second draft edit.
Status of "unfinished" posted works:
A Measure of Devotion: I did write a few follow-on stories to this, in rough form. Then I decided I'd rather incorporate some of that material into the ME2 novelization, so this story will stand as a one-shot. I am honestly still debating whether to use this story's premise in the novelization or not... Getting close to the point where I'll have to make a firm decision or face more re-writing than any sane person would invite.
Mass Effect: Aftermath: At this point, having finished Beginnings and roughed out plans for novelizing each of the three games, there's too much stuff I'd want to change in this story. The plan right now is to do the novelizations and then tackle Aftermath fresh afterwards. I also have some very vague plans for beyond Aftermath as well...
