My Twitch (I don't have a solid streaming schedule, but I try and do one once a month at least)
My Youtube (Been off for awhile but I usually upload stuff Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays)
So I've been reading fanfiction for the better part of about 4 or 5 years and always wanted to give writing my own a try. Now that I find myself in college and living on my own I find myself with a lot of time on my hands so here I am giving it the old college try! Also I've been sucking at writing in general so I'm using this as a kind of exercise to get me back in the writing groove.
Things I can't live without: Earbuds/headphones, music of some kind, my guitars, spaghetti, french fries, and writing utensils.
Top 10 Bands (in no particular order): Shinedown, Led Zeppelin, Madina Lake, Fall Out Boy (everything up until Infinity On High), Foo Fighters, Seether, Bullet For My Valentine, Guns N' Roses (with Slash), Framing Hanley, & Green Day
Favorite Phrases/Words: Fuck, faffing about, touche, go touch yourself, good one, ass hat, well then!, poop, indeed, suck it.
Favorite Books: Harry Potter, Skin Jacker Trilogy, Inheritance Cycle, Vampire Chronicles, New Tales Of The Vampires, The Divine Comedy, Paradise Lost, anything Edgar Allen Poe, & Lila The Divine Game
Occupation: Broke ass college student who hopes to pay the bills by being a musician or teacher
Hobbies: Anything to do with music, playing games (pm me if you use Steam!), writing (duh), tinkering with things, working on cars, cruising with friends, and shenanigans with friends.
Random Shit: I'm pretty skinny which almost everybody makes fun of me for (they're just jealous of my curves), single (hit that stage of being single where it now sucks and is no longer fun), I can't draw for the life of me, I'm a Mexican with no ass and no rhythm (weeps), I can play the guitar, bass, do alright with vocals, and kinda play the drums and piano, and I'm a pedophile because Julia Pierce is too damn gorgeous and shreds a guitar like a badass
If you're wondering what series I will be writing about here is a helpful list!
And series that I will borrow elements from/do crossovers with
Got this from TheDemonKingNaruto's profile. Great author go check out his stuff if you haven't already. Hits the nail on the head pretty well and I couldnt have said it better myself.
And here's something concerning 'REVIEWS', which I copied from 'Heartless demon wolf'-
Writers- all of them, from famous authors to subtle FF writers- ALL depend on the feedback from our readers. Vision Dominican brought up an interesting albeit tragically true idea:
"Lack of reviews is the greatest killer of fan fic writers out there. We at the institute wish to let the public know of how they can pitch in to save our dying writers.
1) Drop a review every other chapter. It may not seem like much, but reviews are actually what many of us want to see. That, and hits. Hits do make us happy but we don't really know if people like our story or not.
2) Visit our author page. Those kind of hits really make us happy. It's where we showcase our entourage of friends, beta readers, and stories. Some of us even tidy up with set areas for upcoming story ideas and character bios.
3) Send an email. While normally I'd prefer a review, emails are just as good. Really, it warms my heart to communicate with another reader or writer."
What you call being "too lazy to review" is what we call "a flame to the pages" as the writers. That one minute or two that you felt "too lazy" to review is another minute of creeping discouragement that all writers feel as they begin to think...
"Why am I even here…?"
"What's the point of even continuing?"
"My skills must be terrible…no one cares for my story…"
"I'll never be a good writer...I quit."
These are only a few thoughts that go through every writer's head- that go through MY head- when we put out a chapter / story with all our heart and soul within, and we sit there…and sit…and wait…and not a single person says even a word.
If you're not a writer, you have NO IDEA how much that hurts…
If you ARE a writer, then I'm sure you know just how great it feels when someone is kind enough to leave a heartwarming and encouraging review, and you read it, smiling while thinking…"Wow…fuck...I did it…"
So, why not give fellow writers the same luxury here?
Too many times I've seen epic and utterly beautiful works of literary art fall to pieces before finally being abandoned due to the terrible discouragement that the lack of reviews can cause.
Sometimes, it is so severe that the very writer himself decides to quit, denying the world his skills of writing that I'm it would have deeply enjoyed.
Just one minute, that's all it takes. Just a few gentle taps of the fingers on your keyboard, a few seconds or so of your time, and your words can SAVE a writer from a dark demise.
Do me a favor: Go find a story, ANY story, anywhere here on Fanfic, net, and see if you can help it. If it has very little / no reviews at all, just check it out, and say whatever comes to mind.
And enjoy the thought in mind that you could have just SAVED that story, with just a few taps of the keyboard…
If you agree with what I have said then please copy and paste any part of this story you wish onto your profile. Modify it in any way you see fit; there is no need to use my exact words. You make it say what you want it to say.
The only thing I can personally add is this; as an artist reviews truly do mean a lot. I've seen stories half the length of mine and half the word count yet they have almost double the reviews I do and it sucks. Makes me think, "Am I not good enough?" "Am I doing it wrong?" and many a time I've found myself thinking of giving into the "trends" and writing a story that pleases everyone. The only reason I don't is because I refuse to write such a story as it will lack my own personal input meaning the story will be lacking a soul. I thrive off of your reviews and inputs. The more I see the longer reviews that critique what I could have done better or even the short "Great job!" or "Loving it! Update soon!" and even the flames the more I want to write more!
Pairings I REFUSE to do:
Naruto x Hinata (I personally dont care for her and she is way overdone. I've only seen her paired with him WELL in a handful of stories)
Naruto x Sakura (...its Sakura...need I say more?)
Ash x Misty (same as Sakura)
Ash x Latias (yes the movie was pretty much a huge thing of pokephilia but no, not doing it)
Ichigo x Rukia (she's like hinata and sakura in one)
Ichigo x Orihimie (Now this is a weird one for me cuz I kinda do like her and dont mind the pairing so idk she's more of maybe I guess)
Harry x Ginny (I dont mind her at all but idk I think Harry could have done WAY better. Ginny didnt do much of anything...ever)
Issei x anyone (His character really just bugs me. Can't stand the dude)
Minato (Sekirei) x anyone (same thing as Issei)
Yaoi (Nothing against it and I've read some stories that were way more well written than anything in the heterosexual side of things but yea as a straight dude I don't see myself writing it anytime soon)
Pairings I enjoy:
Naruto x Fem. Kyuubi
Naruto x Anko
Naruto x Kurenai
Naruto x Tsunade
Naruto x Tayuya
Naruto x Karin
Naruto x Temari
Naruto x ...almost anybody really haha (genderbends included)
Harry x Daphne Greengrass
Harry x Fleur
Harry x Tonks
Harry x Narcissa
and you probably get that I like the odd pairings by now.
Just a bit of a look into my style of stories for those who are curious about it.
A lot of the time my main characters will be pretty damn strong, if not out right god-like. That doesn't mean ALL of my fics will have that archetype, but a vast majority will.
A) I think as the main character they deserve some sort of upper hand.
B) this is probably my biggest reason so this may take awhile.
What interests me is not the fighting, or the gore, or anything like that. Trust me I like that stuff (huge fan of Hellsing, Rob Zombie Movies, etc.). My huge interest though has always been the mind and how it, and by extension the character, reacts to the stimulus of the outside world and the events and going-ons that entail everyday life. This means how they handle their relationships (friends, family, lover(s), enemies, and even strangers), decisions, actions and inactions, and the consequences and/or payoffs that come with all of that.
If a character is more worried about training and getting stronger then the focus is taken away from those things. Nothing wrong with that, but again I personally like to focus on the other topic.
My writing will therefore reflect that. If the characters don't need to worry about money, training, and other needs then there can be a heavier emphasis on their mind and development as an individual.
THAT is my main focus.
Some may argue that fights and training and the successes and failures that come with them also play a key role in the development of a person and I don't disagree. So yes for a good majority the character won't be omnipotent or anything but will still be pretty damn strong. There will be something or someone stronger than the main character in some way whether that be in terms of raw power, intellect, or some other facet.
Otherwise there would be no conflict and therefore no plot.
Though I must admit I do enjoy the fun stories that have the main character curb stomping his enemies and obstacles with ease while also getting the ladies haha.
