Author has written 11 stories for Harry Potter, and Magic: The Gathering.
Please note that my "favourites" are really just a reading list - it's the most convenient way to share a reading list between multiple devices. For my recommended stories, see the community "Literate and complete HP stories".
I hate reading a story, enjoying it, only to find that it was last updated five years ago and has been abandoned. So I promise you that except in very rare cases I will only publish a story if it is complete. If my muse prods me into extending a story that I had previously completed then I won't publish until the extension is complete. The one exception to this, so far, is "It's 4:20, I'm Xenophilus Lovegood, Welcome to Quibbler News Network", which is really just a collection of very short stories.
If you would like to extend one of my stories, or are inspired to write your own based on my writing then ... well, be my guest. It would be hypocritical of me to try to stop you from playing in my sandbox when I'm already borrowing other writers' toys! Likewise if you want to translate my work. All I ask, but don't require, is that you inform me when you do so.
My writing is, so far, entirely within the Harry Potter fandom. I only consider the real world's culture, geography and history (albeit with wizards occasionally messing with real peoples' heads to create that history) and the original book series to be Canon, and even then, of course, I am happy to diverge from canon. You will, however, notice some inserts from others' non-canonical works, both "fanon" and the non-canonical writings of JKR and her commercial collaborators. I use them if they don't conflict (too much!) with canon or with my own divergence, and if they help the story, as using familiar concepts makes the story more accessible to readers.
The Grand Tour
I have a long work in progress set in the Harry Potter universe but almost entirely outside Britain and before the book series, in which the characters set off on an 18th-century-style Grand Tour of magical Europe. It is currently stalled. I have a fairly detailed universe mapped out for it, in terms of historical events, the various magical countries and their politics, and magical species. The Grand Tour story itself will be largely canon-compliant if I ever finish it. Entirely by accident, one single line of dialogue in "The Wandmaker's Rest" put it in the same universe, although that story is set some decades after the Grand Tour and is not canon-compliant. I may release other shorts also in that universe.
A History Of Tom Riddle, Film-Lover
This is another long work in progress, which will be mostly canon-compliant (there are some tiny differences in film history), which tells the story of Tom Riddle through the films he watched, starting before he ever heard about magic. It is structured as one significant event in his life and one film for every year from 1936 onward.
The only sport we see in canon is quidditch, but even in a community as small as the magical one there are bound to be other sports, amateur competitions, and of course magicals taking part in non-magical sport. So far I have written an explanation of why real-world association football is so full of play-acting in "Wizard Football", and about broom-racing in "A Simple Little Change", which is a cross-over of sorts (I say of sorts because remember, I consider the real-world to be part of canon) with motorcycle racing. I'm working on one about a magical diving competition - so far I've got the rules, and the beginning and end, now I just need to glue them together.
