My Absolute Favourite Fandom Right Now...:
You all might have realised I am pretty obsessed with Sherlock right now. And that's because I am. BBC's take on the classic Conan Doyle stories is beautiful. The plot is very well thought out, it's engaging, it moves you (I admit (reluctantly) that I cried on a few occasions) and it is truly wonderful. The cast (especially the great Sherlock Holmes himself - Benedict Cumberbatch (squee!)) are wonderfully in character at all times and they truly draw you in and make you follow the story right until the very end of the episode. Now. Episode and season lengths. Each episode is 90 mins. I'm perfectly fine with that. Each season has THREE episodes. THREE. Not so big on that, to be honest. Each season takes TWO YEARS to film! But this one... it aggravates me to no end! I end up blabbering on and on about Ben Cumberbatch that people start to get annoyed! BUT BLAME BBC!! But even then, those are two miniscule wrongs in a universe of rights and I feel that the pros outweigh the cons MASSIVELY. So there you go. Brilliant show.
Why I Write:
I write because… well… I like it. ‘I like to write’ is probably my primary reason. But aside from that it’s because I have the ideas to write and personally, I think I have the talent. I believe I am at least good at writing. I mean, I’m not great and I’m certainly far from the best, but I like to think I am good. I can write for hours on end and not get tired of it. I’ll keep going even if my fingers hurt from typing or my wrist hurts from using a pencil. It helps me get rid of the burdens of life and I can be totally me when I put words on a page. I like to entertain people and know what my readers think. And even though my works have recently been on the more angsty side, I still want people to enjoy them. I appreciate knowing what people think of my writing. I write to practise at it because practice makes perfect, right?
And one last thing. (Well, two): Firstly, I'd like to thank all of my readers for checking out my stories. I know I don't reply to reviews and maybe that's the reason why there's a shortage of them, but I do appreciate every single one of them. I really do. And secondly, I forget to put disclaimers in my stories, so here's a general one: I don't own any of the fandoms I write/have written for. Everything I own limits to my plots and my OC's. That's it.
Forums I Participate in:
Winx Club Fanfiction Challenges or WCFC. A friendly forum where varied Winx Club-themed challenges take place. New members are always welcome. This forum has actually swallowed most of my time. I can't complain though: it's too much fun!
Winx Writers Anonymous or WWA. Another friendly forum where you can go for advice, to complain, to celebrate and a whole lot of other stuff. I'm a fairly new member so I still don't know everything about it. If you want to get the full picture... go check it out!
My Personal Favourites from the fandoms I frequent (aka the stories you just have to check out):
Sherlock: Alone on the Water by MadLori. 'Sherlock is diagnosed with a terminal illness.' This one, gosh, this literally made me cry buckets. Now, I don't cry easy, and most stories only mange a tug at my heart. This one... you won't believe how this one is overflowing with angst. Guaranteed to move even the most withered of hearts, the emotion comes through exceptionally well, all of the characters are written how the show portrays them, and the choice of words is just... wow. Love it.
Once Upon a Time: 65 point 6 degrees by Excalibrr. 'Killian and Emma are going to spending the night together and Killian is nervous since he wants everything to be perfect.' Oh. My. God. This is literally the sweetest Captain Swan fic I've read ever. Like, the way Killian is so nervous and his David's little chat before David leaves and I think I'm about to cry this is so beautiful. Never have I ever read such a gorgeous fic. The characters are so well written and jeez, this is gorgeous.
Winx Club: Broken Pieces by xBloomStarx. 'After Bloom recovers from the trauma of Shadow Haunt, she encounters a wizard she falls in love with. But she really wasn't supposed to.' This one is really great as it's focusing on Sparxshipping, and I'm a die-hard Sparxshipper. I love the chemistry of this one. The interactions between Bloom and her friends and the realistic, life-like portrayal of them is beautiful. So is her and Baltor's relationship. This whole thing is beautiful. I love it so much.
Frozen: Aaron and the Snow Queen by TrassDrakin. 'Elsa isn't alone in the mountains. She fled her coronation and found someone she didn't intend to meet. Does her fear separate them? Or does love bloom?' Done by one of my favourite authors. An Elsa/OC story, takes place just after our Ice Queen flees her coronation. Written with lovely, long chapters and beautifully portrayed characters, this might be the one story where each of my reviews are filled with praise to the brim.
Thanks for checking out my profile. I'll catch you later!
