![]() Author has written 17 stories for NCIS. Greetings and welcome to my page, To all the wonderful writers who have shared their stories, I herewith express my appreciation. I went from reading mostly canon settings to exploring different universes, and back again. I review stories with great pleasure, and am very pleased to receive feedback to my comments. Thanks guys! The reason I came to FFN was my insatiable thirst for learning more about NCIS characters, and I stayed as I liked what I found. I've watched and re-watched all NCIS episodes from the pilot in JAG season 8, right through what's available to me of NCIS season 15. I have a particular liking for tags, as there are so many little moments in the show that invite further exploration. In my story favorites you'll often discover but a few stories by the same author. See below why a story I loved, and commented accordingly may not be listed. My muse often demands that I give Leroy Jethro Gibbs' point of view, but read a story of mine to find out what has me so fascinated. If you send a signed-in review, I'll respond to your comments, or at least send you a note of thanks. It's a great deal to hear from you. All PM are welcome, and much appreciated. As Abby would say, I hug you all in my mind, right now! Cheers, VG LittleBear PS: Please check out my eponyme Google(plus) account, I'd love to share more of my interests, and maybe see yours. :) Forums & Community: The season 12 finale inspired me to open a topic in Forums NCIS Dissected (link) Season 12 - Troll, The Lost Boys, and Neverland (link). My thanks go to shywr1ter who created this forum several seasons ago. I've also created a Community to collect related tags. Please send a PM if I missed your story. I've been pleased to note that some of my stories have been added to other Communities, thank you! Working Relationships (an on-going collection of one-shots from Gibbs' POV, each chapter is a completed one-shot in no particular order or sequence) First Impressions (team) Worries Without End (Tony) Mating Behavior (various) Cut Loose (Jack)Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter. - Mark Twain More about me: Writing fanfiction started for me on this site. Though I've had favorite series before, I never wrote about them, nor do I feel I should. Ever since I got here, my focus was and is on the TV show: NCIS (Naval Criminal Investigative Service). Special Agent Gibbs looks out for his team as in "you're never lonely when you have kids", and maintains a fine friendship with Dr. Donald "Ducky" Mallard, M.E. - FBI Senior Agent Tobias Fornell's "call me when you want to suffer" friendship with Gibbs is based on their no-nonsense approach to cutting through red tape, saving each other's life uncounted times, and they had been married to the same woman, Diane (Gibbs' ex-wife #1). I'm interested in the different dynamics in and around Gibbs' team, but no shipping (with the possible exception of Gibbs with Jenny Shepard). The 'Gibbs Rules' started me on writing down a few of my own. For now, I'll keep the # that inspired it. 2: Always wear gloves on public transport. 8: Don't assume, TANFL (There Ain't No Free Lunch). 9: Never go on a picnic without a knife! - Actually, I follow the original rule # 9 with my pocket knife :) 11: When the conversation is done, walk away. 38: Your story, your lines! 51: Opinion is not fact.More rules - this is how I decided to use my "favorites" selections: Story Favorites - Early on I tried to use this status sparingly. I like many a story by the same author, but I didn't want to reproduce their story listing. If you like a story description, chances are you'll find more when you click on the author. Author Favorites - There are many reasons a name goes on that list. It's a way to remind me that I want to check what they have recently written, or authors yet to explore. Some write in many different fandoms, which means I may not choose to use the "follow author" option. I'll go and choose specific stories to follow instead, i.e. NCIS related.Favorite characters in film and books - I thought to tell you, but I realized that I have many characters I like and care about, from swashbuckling hero(ine) to intellectual hermit. About reading books: I've been an avid reader ever since I managed to spell out my first word. I still remember the sense of accomplishment, when I succeeded reading my first bound book in one single afternoon. When I moved from fairy tales to other genres, I first went for historical novels, and whatever else I found in my parents' bookshelves, then I discovered Westerns, Science Fiction and Fantasy. I never stopped loving Andersen's and Grimms' fairy tales, but now there were JRR Tolkien, Marion Zimmer Bradley, Robert A Heinlein, Mercedes Lackey, Patricia Briggs, and George RR Martin, to name just a few. How does that fit with crime, you ask. Well, I've read Agatha Christie and Arthur Conan Doyle, too, and I never turn down a good thriller. With FFN I've discovered the rewards of providing feedback to the author, and in many cases I read the comments of my fellow readers after I've submitted my own. My workbench: WIP on several ideas (one-shots) Over and Out (individual chapters) - more coming down the line, but not quite yet Working Relationships - thinking about writing up another one-shotMovie quote from "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel": Everything will be all right in the end... if it's not all right then it's not yet the end. |
