Hey everyone! I'm Hailey and I've returned to fan fiction after a very long break, now I'm just getting back into the habit, while juggling class, work. I find that when it comes to multi chaptered fics, if I write as I post, I eventually lose interest. So instead I've decided to try writing a complete story before posting any part of it and see how that goes for me, while pumping out the occasional one shot when it strikes my fancy.
OC's are my thing. I know there are people who don't like it but that's what I like to do, writing offers escapism for me and I hope that I can provide that for other people with my stories. My OC's are not typical idealized self inserts but I'm not lying when I say there are elements of me in every one I create, whether it's a shared belief, experience, or emotional climate. Sure, I don't like some OC stories, but that's only when it's badly written or underdeveloped OC who is a Mary Sue. Writing an OC offers me a chance to work on developing a good relatable but flawed character, and adding a OC to an established story is great exercise for that because I want to perhaps write my own original story one day. But fan fiction, for now, is my way to in improve my technique and style.
I also do canonical one shots as well, which are usually character studies, and are really small writing exercises for me when the inspiration strikes, despite my main focus are my multi chaptered fics.
I've got several stories in development but they won't be posted until the previous story is completed. So once my current story completed, I will be beginning the next, so that my focus can fully stay on the current story.
