![]() Author has written 35 stories for Sherlock, and X-Files. Fanfic is the proverbial candy store! So many stories, so little time! Take your pick of my contributions and enjoy! Feedback is welcome. For those readers who wish there were more episodes of the BBC Sherlock series or wished the actual episodes provided missing scenes, then my stories are for you! Here you will find case fics and adventures, insights, and introspection for our beloved Sherlock and John. I have faithfully maintained these characters as they were depicted in the television series that was produced by the British network BBC, along with Hartswood Films, with Moffat, Gatiss, Sue Vertue and Rebecca Eaton serving as executive producers. All disclaimers apply! A.N: The Sherlock stories listed below have been categorized by casefic or introspective-character study and are in chronological order according to the episodes' timeline and seasons. Only the dates at the end of each synopsis tells you when I actually wrote the story. All I can say is that later works are an improvement over my earlier works, (let the reader beware) but so as to get the general feel of my perspective of this BBC Sherlock Universe, I am not deleting any stories from this fanfiction site. I hope this guide will be helpful in introducing new readers to this series of fanfiction stories. Wynsom 7/22/2018 888*888 Original Case fics: Canon compliant with BBC Sherlock and written about events BEFORE Season 4 05 BBC Sherlock: Working Backwards A look backwards: About a year before TRF, Sherlock and John share an adventure to discover the connections between a ghost story and the case of eleven inebriated men. At the same time, the detective and the doctor discover significant connections between their working relationship and meaningful friendship. No fluff nor slash, but insights abound. As usual, all disclaimers apply. Borrowing the time frame and characterizations from the BBC Sherlock series, this little fanfic tells their enduring story. I hope you will find the ending justifies the means. Please enjoy. Published: 1/2/2015 - Updated: 1/2/2015 - Complete (As of Season 4, this now an AU.) 333333 03 BBC Sherlock: Parlor Tricks Sherlock and John acquire an understanding about each other whilst solving the mystery of a man who stepped "back into his own house to get his umbrella and was never more seen in this world." Based on an "unfinished tale" referenced by Watson in ACD's "The Problem of Thor Bridge," this story is set more than a year into the partnership of the BBC characters. Published: 2/1/2015 - Updated: 2/1/2015 - Complete 333333 04 BBC Sherlock: The Case of the FLAT-OUT Adventure The enduring relationship between Sherlock and John can be seen in many subtle ways; how they work together, how they play together, how they understand each other, and how little they need to talk about it. Not a mystery, but an ADVENTURE, this fic examines the nuances of these extraordinary characters on what might be considered an ordinary day. Takes place before TRF. Published: 2/14/2016 - Updated: 2/29/2016 Sherlock H., John W. - Complete 333333 06A BBC Sherlock: The Case of the Tired Captain Pre Season 3: John has been living alone in a new flat. On his bookshelf is the crystal ashtray (see ASiB) which has become a favorite keepsake, a symbol of his friendship with Sherlock Holmes. While it reminds him of the best of times from the early days of their friendship—when they shared chuckles, camaraderie, and cases—he also gets lost in the faceted surface through which he recalls special memories. One such night, the ashtray 'transports' him back to an adventure that challenged Sherlock to "solve a murder without a body." Published: 01-29-23 Complete 888*888 Introspective-character studies: Canon compliant with BBC Sherlock written BEFORE Season 4 01 BBC Sherlock: Welcome to London! One shot: This is a story about a detective and his friend, not a detective story. At 22 Northumberland Street, Sherlock and John sprang from Angelo's Italian restaurant when the taxi pulled from the kerb-and thus commenced their first adventure as partners. This one-shot pays homage to the "lightness of being" true friends in an enduring relationship. All Disclaimers Apply. When "BLUD," to all intents and purposes, seemed to have failed the detective in THE REICHENBACH FALL, John Watson chooses to soldier up, face their enemy together, and summon the courage to protect his friend. This series revisits the tragic scenes in TRF from John's POV. So what prevented the cleverest man in the whole world from delivering even one word to let John know he was alive? (As usual, all disclaimers regarding ACD and the BBC series apply.) Special thanks to my blessing/beta/friend englishtutor and her indefatigable talent for cheering me on.Published: 6/21/2015-Updated: 6/21/2015 - Complete 333333 08 BBC Sherlock: UNSPOKEN SUBTEXTS from The Empty Hearse Another of my earliest works. Scenes and Subtexts from The Empty Hearse. What were John's thoughts after discovering Sherlock was alive? What were Sherlock's after John's rejection? Each chapter inserts words not spoken that explore how their friendship survives The Fall. (Faithful to the BBC series with some liberties.) Thanks to sevenpercent for her insights that supported this rewrite. Published: 4/6/2014 - Updated: 7/12/2014 - Complete 333333 09 BBC Sherlock: Nine Slices of Cake In TSOT, clever Mary Morstan knew the boys needed "to run" and urged them to pick a case, especially Sherlock who was definitely becoming obsessive compulsive about the wedding plans. This fanfic occurs in that split-second when John convinces Sherlock to pick a case. Comically played by Benedict and Martin, this moment is IMHO a precursor to darker events to come in HLV Published: 8/20/2014 - Updated: 8/20/2014 - Complete 333333 10 BBC Sherlock: MISSING PIECES Remaining faithful as possible to BBC Canon, these 3 chapters are my FIRST fics—apologies in advance—and were written to fill the 'in-between scenes' that IMHO were sorely missing from HLV. Originally one-shots entitled GO Home (1,2.3), cause I didn't know how to make chapters. SO PLEASE read this MISSING PIECES instead of the Go Home series as this linked version is updated in small but significant ways. Again apologies for my earliest attempts at Fanfiction. ;-( Chapter 1: Will Wounds Heal? A "missing" conversation between Sherlock and John Watson that could have taken place in HLV. Sherlock wakes up again in the hospital after collapsing from bleeding internally at Baker Street in the aftermath of new revelations between John and Mary; Chapter 2: Another conversation between Sherlock and John "missing" from Season 3, His Last Vow (episode 3). Wounds may be healing. Sherlock has returned to Baker Street and is secretly planning to raid Appledore. John finally opens up about how he's managing with and without Mary since Sherlock nearly died. Chapter 3: During Sherlock's incarceration, Mycroft, John, and Sherlock shared hopes, regrets, and heal wounds of misunderstanding. The context of John's and Sherlock's exchange offers a basis for their albeit very restrained final meeting at the air base. Would Sherlock have been able to value such human emotions without the critical thresholds he experienced in A Scandal in Belgravia? A look at select moments (mostly from ASiB)that influenced Sherlock's emotional development. In TLD, John has a major attitude shift. First, he's a grieving widower who rages at Sherlock, then, the friend who absolves Sherlock of blame for Mary's death. This one-shot examines John's transition that opened the way not only for their mutual reconciliation but for that tender hug of mutual consolation between them at the end of the episode. Had Sherlock not changed John's life would John have taken his own? War injury and PTSD aside, what mystery in John's past made him feel "so alone" and lost? This character study follows John's long journey on the road to redemption, from the invalided soldier suffering survivor's guilt and tempted with suicide to the grieving widower sitting in his old armchair in 221B. SPOILER ALERT: While the timeline of this story begins after the Blind Banker, there are many spoilers and references to all four seasons of the BBC Series, including The Abominable Bride. Readers should be familiar to some degree with these episodes. Warning. Since the topic of suicide is discussed throughout, this story has an M rating.
