May 20 Update: I know, I haven't updated my profile in ages. I'm trying really hard to focus on finishing Spark right now, because it's almost 4 years old 0_0
Okay, my bio... I've always had stories in my head, so you could say I've been writing my whole life. It's an impulse I can't stop, you know, that endless mental tinkering of "What if she said..." or "Hey, wouldn't it be cool if..." It's that other reality of my own creation with a never-ending supply of possibilities.
After discovering this site and falling in love with a lot of the stories here, I decided to sign-up and follow/favorite some of them, and post a few of my own :D I've also got an AO3 account (Chalybeousite) and started posting my stories there. Warning, if you go to AO3 to read them, keep in mind I take full advantage of the Explicit Rating allowed over there.
I love video games, and I bet you can guess a few of them if you look at the stories/authors I've liked. I love romances, too. I've written (not posted) way too many Assassins Creed romances... Sigh. Someday I may put up my Jak & Daxter, and maybe I'll post one or two of my Ezio stories, too, now that I'm gaining confidence ;D
I love romances, but I don't want to publish romances. So I write stories here to get that crap out of my system; then I can focus on "serious" writing without the compulsion to add in the flushed cheeks and batting eyes and heaving bosoms ;)
Someone recently commented (not unkindly) that a writer on a site like this gets no real reward for their hard work (and went on to say how much they appreciate my hard work), but I begged to differ with them. I am rewarded. Not with a royalty check (money's only a way for publishing houses to keep score), but with every review where my reader has identified with a character, or can picture the scene perfectly, or was moved to feel a certain way... Ah, that's my reward! That's why I share what I write ;D So, criticism is welcomed, constructive more than destructive, but honest at the very least.
Feel free to PM me with comments or questions, etc. I love to "chat." And I'll respond fairly quickly (and probably too often).
July 12, 2014: Heard this guy last night, singing and playing acoustic guitar, and a line in one of his songs spoke to me. I just have to share it. "Block out the sounds of the devils in your ears." To me, it means don't listen to those worries and doubts that keep you from believing in yourself. I heard that line, and it resonated within me, you know. Hopefully, you feel it, too ;)
