Tagged to the 2012 film: In all those years, there was only one order Valjean ever gave Cosette that she didn't obey. Father/daughter fluff and slight Marius/Cosette.

After a disagreement about prisons and what they can do to a man, Madeleine and Javert are once again faced with the knowledge that they will not be able to change the other's mind with words. They decide to see if they can prove their point, instead, by placing Javert in a pretend prison situation with other volunteers and seeing what happens at the end of two weeks.

Valjean has an accident in bed after a nightmare... Javert helps clean him up. Established Relationship.

"I've wanted this since Toulon." The moment he said that, Javert knew that he had stuck his foot in his mouth but he couldn't just un-say it. Now Valjean was looking at him in horror and it was really ruining the mood. If only Javert had any faith at all in his comforting skills.

"She couldn't help comparing him to her own father." An expansion on one of my favorite moments in the play: Eponine delivering Marius's letter to Cosette to Valjean.

AU from Mayor Madeleine era. Javert tells Madeleine he denounced him and the convict Valjean has already been sent to prison. When Mayor Madeleine refuses to punish him, he takes matters into his own hands until Madeleine puts a stop to it. Incomplete spanking fic with focus on the spanking. So don't read if you don't like.

AU from Montreuil/Mayor Madeleine era. Javert does not understand why Mayor Madeleine decided to host a large banquet, but the man is. He understands even less why the rich are refusing to attend. Based on a biblical parable.

"That's all you are, old whiskers, you silly ass. A man, of middling years, in a state of some disarray." Javert has a chat with himself. Sort of a rambling character study. T just in case. Formerly "Frigophobia"- this is a revamp.

The Champmathieu case never happened, but Javert is still suspicious of the mayor. With no solid evidence to go on, he is forced to continue the charade until a nearly fatal accident provides him with the opportunity that he has been waiting for. But now Cosette is in the picture-a child of the gutter, just like him-and when a child's life is at stake, it changes everything.

He had died in that river. He was sure of it. So why was he still alive?

He placed the hat in his lap and reached back, freeing his hair from the neatly tied silken ribbon, long, dark locks spilling rebelliously down his back to just below the shoulder blades. It was the last connection to his gypsy heritage, the one eccentricity that he'd refused to give up.

The night before it happened! What was it like?

She's a child with a history of abuse, and he's a total stranger to her, but somehow, they learn to be a family. Valjean and Cosette's first days and nights together.

Valjean was a pruner, in Faverolles. He remembers the flowers that grew there, and wonders if that guard constantly patrolling the hall outside of his cell has a favorite flower. Javert, for his part, could care less. Valvert, Toulon-era.

On his way to deliver his resignation, Javert passes a small church and decides to make one last confession. Every man-no matter how strong-has a breaking point. And Javert had just reached his.

"Even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise." A look at the lives of Valjean and Javert through long nights, fires, stars, and sunrises.

Storytime had become one of his favorite pastimes with Cosette, but when his daughter begins to question his past, Valjean is caught between risking her reaction to the truth and one day being caught up in a lie. So he does what any good father would do...he answers with a story.
