I read twenty books over the summer and I have another twenty-nine to read this fall and winter (not counting those for school). I want to major in creative writing at college. I write. It's what I do.
If you have questions about any of these things--my beliefs, personality, interests, etc.--don't be afraid to shoot me a PM. I don't bite, but I do lick. And I take forever to respond. You've been warned.
Check out my stories while you're here. I've written for several categories, including many Disney shows and a couple movies. My newer stuff is better than my old stuff, but for some reason most people like my old stuff more.
If you'd like to know more and check out some of my other work on the web, go to my website at daphrose.com or my blog, daphrose.wordpress.com.
Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy your stay.

Jokes Are NOT Always Funny
I took the soft, golden-brown cookie from the plastic tray.
My mother has asked once; twice; three times even.
The man had assured her,
the cookies were safe.
I took a single bite.
I could tell, just by the taste,
that something was off.
My palms were itchy.
My tongue was burning.
It was getting harder and harder to breathe.
"Just Kidding," the man exclaimed before cracking up.
My throat felt sore and tight.
I inhaled deeper breaths,
but nothing seemed to help.
The burning was too strong.
My mother slapped the man.
My vision was becoming blurred by black spots.
My racing heart was heard in my ears.
"What is wrong with you?" She screamed before grabbing my hand,
my cold, purple, numb hand,
and dragging me out if the store.
My whole body was aching with the worst itch.
My arms and legs felt swollen.
I could barely hold my own weight.
"Help! Someone help my baby!"
My mother could faintly be heard calling for help.
All I remember after that was the paramedics,
the bright, white flashlight,
my mother's and sister's sobs,
the oxygen mask,
and of course,
the man, saying,
"It was only a joke."
Ungerlover let me copy this from her profile. This is an experience that really happened to her. I wanted to post it because both of my younger brothers have allergies: one to nuts and the other to dairy. This is a really seriously thing. Food allergies can be lethal. I know it doesn't make sense to most people that a glass of milk or a thing as tiny as a peanut can kill you, but it can. Kids with food allergies constantly have to ask for special meals at restaurants or if a snack someone brought is "safe to eat." One slip-up can be deadly. This is a really serious thing, and it should not be taken lightly. Don't joke about allergies. Ungerlover survived her reaction, but not everyone is so lucky . . .

My Writing Style
Alright, here is where I talk about my stories. I have links below if you’d like to read them. I tend to write family-centered stories, sometimes with deep, angst-y themes. I am a Christian, so that will affect my writing. You will never find any swearing in my stories. Sexual content will never, ever go beyond a little bit of kissing, and I will not write boy x boy or girl x girl pairings. I have promised myself never to write (or read) an M rated story. I love writing cliffhangers and plot twists, so be warned about that! That all being said, I hope you’ll like some of my stories!
(The number at the end of the notes on the stories will tell you how much I want to write it. 10 is it's absolutely happening and I can barely step away from the document. 1 means it's probably not going to happen and it was just a weird idea I thought up. 10 means it's on my mind constantly. 1 means I barely think about it. 10 means the ideas are getting fleshed out very well. 1 means there are hardly any ideas at all. I'm sure you can figure out the numbers in between. I thought it would be good to let you guys know how much I'm into a story. If the number is really low, it might not even happen at all. In that case, feel free to message me and ask about adopting it. The higher numbers will be the projects that get the most priority, obviously.)
My Dearest Sibling: The Davenport family has finally made peace - Douglas and Donald are brothers once again. But will their family ties be tested when a long-lost relative comes back into the picture? And when happens when this relative has a negative influence on Bree? Can this family finally heal all their wounds, or will they fall apart at the seams?
Shake: "Our building is still swaying, I can feel it. We're getting reports of power outages around the city. Make sure that everyone you know is safe. Check your building for any structural damage. I . . . I don't even know if anyone can hear me. Is anyone watching right now? Hello? All the sirens outside . . . folks, I'm telling you, it sounds like an apocalypse out there . . ."
Growing Up Davenport: The eldest is a scientific genius with an ego the size of Texas. The youngest is also a genius, but he tends to use his smarts for the more devious plans. How much trouble can they get into? I think the answer is pretty obvious. So they pull pranks, create new inventions, and torment their sister. All the while, though, they have to keep their family from coming undone. No family is perfect, and this one is no exception.
Maturity: It was a promise she made at his bedside, with machines buzzing all around them. She wasn't about to break that promise now. Finding herself away from school, she discovers it's much easier to stay true to who she is. After all the ups and downs in her life, she can finally fulfill her promise to her father: a promise to be mature.
Notes: Family/hurt/comfort/angst?/drama? Bree-centric, with many theories about her personality and some Donald-Bree fluff. Based off the episodes "Bionic House Party" and "First Day at the Bionic Academy." Rated K plus. 3.
Son: Why was he so protective? Why did he hold Leo back? Why did he demote him to student? Why wouldn't he give him bionics in the first place? To him, at least, the answer was simple: Leo was his son, and for the first time in his life, he could do something to protect him.
Descent Into Madness: Like glass, everything around me began to shatter. I watched in horror as my family fell apart, and there was nothing I could about it. It was a gradual process, slow and painful. Little did I know that it was only the beginning—the beginning of the end.
Hot Blooded: Years of icy cold. Years without the brilliant glare of the sun in my eyes or the heat of a crackling furnace. It was killing me slowly on the inside. I couldn't stand it. By very nature, I needed warmth. I needed out of this frozen prison. And one day, with a shout, a holler, and a bang, my freedom arrived.
As the World Burns: One thing I've learned over the past several years is that if you play with fire, someone's going to get burned. There have been months without conflict, but that's all going to change soon. Old enemies return with a vengeance, out to destroy peace, and the future starts to look dim. It's only then that we discover the answers lie not in the future or even in the present, but in my uncle's dark and mysterious past.
Devil's Children: My family is a bit . . . different, shall we say? Fights, squabbles, and the like . . . we take care of them a different way. Usually in a way that ends up with at least one of us in the infirmary. And let's not even bring my dad into this equation. Lunatics. We're all lunatics. Hey, it might be a hectic life, but it's mine.
Interdimensional: Two years ago, the bionic trio died in a tragic accident. However, Adam survived, but witnessed the death of his younger siblings. At the same time, Bree survived, but she saw her brothers killed. Meanwhile, Chase pulled through, but he watched his siblings die in front of him. Impossible, you say? Think again.
Notes: Adventure/sci-fi/suspense/family/drama/friendship. Haha, I bet that doesn't make any sense. I know it doesn't. That's why I'm so proud of it. :) Multi-chaptered. Rated T for teleportation. In progress; on hold. 3.
The Rise and Fall of Davenport Industries: "The brothers united once more," he said. "A world full of untold riches to plunder," he said. "Wealth beyond imagining," he said! And then he proceeded to drop a steel beam on top of me. "There can only be one CEO of Davenport Industries," he said. At least we can agree on that. . . .
Just Another Birthday: Every year it was the same thing. One person never came to her parties, never wished her a happy birthday, never even called to say hello. Didn't he know how much his daughter needed him? "My daddy never told me to stay away from bad boys. In fact, he didn't tell me much at all. After all, he hasn't talked to me in nine years."
My Bionic Immortal: Meet Esmeralda Rose Jewel Delphine Consuela Mary Sue Davenport. She's got all the powers of the bionic trio combined, and for some reason Adam, Chase, Leo, and all the boys at the Bionic Academy are falling in love with her! Who is this intoxicating stranger? Where did she get her stunning looks and incredible powers? And why is Douglas the only one who realizes the insanity of this whole situation!?
The Galacitcom Saga: A computer hacker named AYEN, a new company called Galacticom Broadcasting, and the creepy message they keep hearing over and over: "Beware Centaurus." Not to mention the fact that Leo's gone missing, Bree's falling in love with a boy she can't trust, and it looks like someone's spying on the Bionic Academy. And that's not even the worst part, not when the whole world is in danger.
Belonging: Four times someone quit, and four times they learned about the power of family. The eldest tried to carry the ache alone; the smartest thought he could brave the cold; the rebel found that she couldn't change the old; the newest never could break the mold. But it was in their moment of weakness that they found the place they truly belong.
Adventures in Odyssey (misc. radio dramas)
Loquacious and Verbose: For years Connie has suffered through Eugene's long-winded speeches filled with six-syllable words and "colloquialisms." Enough was enough. It was time to beat Eugene at his own game. She had been studying for months, and it was about to pay off. Time to become, as Eugene might say, "Remarkably voluble."
November Twelfth: It was a very different day; Jerry Whittaker could feel it. As he shouldered the gun and wiped the sweat from his brow, he couldn't help but think about his family. They had been on his mind a lot lately. So while he and the other troops were marching into town, he prayed to his heavenly Father for the strength and courage to face whatever was coming that day.
Earth to Echo:
Unwanted: "I know what it's like to be alone in the world. And people seem to think that being alone is when you're all by yourself without another human being for miles around. That's not being alone. Being alone is when you're surrounded by people, but not one of them cares about your existence. It's standing in the middle of a crowded city, abandoned by everyone you thought was your friend. It's when . . . it's when you're own family doesn't even want you. Let me tell you, I'd rather have everyone hate me than to have no one know I'm alive. It stinks. It really stinks."
iAm Yours: She didn't know it now, and maybe she never would, but Freddie was hers. He hated watching her from a distance and seeing her suffer, and all he wanted was to wrap his arms around her and never let her go. No matter what happened, he was hers. All hers.
Best Friends Whenever:
A Time to Feel: Feelings, huh? He didn't know much about them. Oh, sure, he'd heard the stories, but he'd never felt them inside himself. Until now, that is. The throbbing, burning sensation in his chest—was this feelings? And how come the first time he felt them was after a special encounter with her? Could it be that Shelby Marcus inadvertently taught him to love?
Tempus Edax Rerum: “Barry, what’s wrong?” Shelby asked. Barry looked up, his face expressionless and still a sickly white. “Aragon escaped.” That was it. That was all they needed. Cyd stumbled backward and bumped into the counter, falling onto the ground. She curled up into a ball, her head between her knees and her dark hair flowing over her legs. Her leggings muffled her strangled sobs.
Girl Meets World
Girl Meets Destiny: Was there ever any doubt? Sitting her, doing what she did, it was a dream come true. She had finally made the world her own, and now she was helping others do the exact same thing.
Girl Meets I Don't Know What I Would Do: She crossed her knees and looked away from the arena. She couldn't watch. Deep down in her gut she knew something bad was about to go down. For about four seconds, people cheered. Then they stopped. The silence was deafening. She couldn't look. Several more seconds passed. Someone shouted her up. She looked up to see Riley running toward her with tears streaming down her face, and even the amazing Maya Hart couldn't hold it in anymore. (AU to Girl Meets Texas: Part 1)
Girl Meets Not Alone Anymore: She needed to know. Too many people had broken their promises in the past, and she needed to make sure he wouldn't. She loved him to the ends of the earth, but if you've been left must as much as she had, you'd need assurance too. /or/ "Maya, I love you. Hear that? I'm not taking it back, no matter what happens to us."
Girl Meets More: If you told her she was worth something, she would've scoffed. After all, she was more than aware of her main flaw: Broken. Besides: "I would never bug Him about me."
Girl Meets Forgive Me: "It's been two months. Two months, one week, four days, twenty-one hours, seventeen minutes, and thirty-seven seconds. Thirty-eight. Thirty-nine. Forty. And all those numbers are astronomically smaller than the chances of her coming up to me and saying, 'I forgive you.'"
Oryctolagus Cuniculus and Espresso: There were two rules when it came to bunnies: 1) Don't call them cute. 2) Don't give them coffee. Too bad Nick didn't know about the second rule.
I Left the Flowers At Your Beside: "I've killed twenty-seven animals in the past twelve months, Mr. Wilde. If you're not careful, your little bunny friend will be twenty-eight. I don't want you to think you hold any kind of power over me. Believe me, I won't hesitate to make your nephew twenty-nine, your sister thirty, and, after you've watched the slow, agonizing death of your friend and your family, you will be number thirty-one."
The Dark Heart of Animality: "You feel that too, don't you?" / The malfunctioning radio, the spartanly-dressed wolves, the mysteriously missing bodies, the sudden cliff face, the odd sense of misdirection, the convict’s strange behavior, and on top of all that, a scratching at the back of her mind that made her physically nauseous. Oh, she felt it. / “Keep moving,” she said, prodding Nick in the back.
In Dependance: She needs a gas mask. He needs an antidote. She suffers from being alone. He suffers from being alive. She needs a way in. He needs a way out. She had to leave him behind. He had to let her go. She’s dying to find him. He’s just plain dying.

My good friend Emmy (Tie Dye Pencils on FanFiction and Drama26 [drama26.deviantart.com] on DeviantArt) is the unofficial illustrator of my work. She's agreed to draw pictures for some of my stories, including We Deserve Freedom and War Torn. I'll post links to her work so you can check it out, and I highly recommend taking a look! (She's very talented. ;) ) Most, if not all, of the story artwork will be by her. If anyone out there is an artist who would like to take a whack at illustrating characters/outfits/scenes from my stories, go ahead and PM me! I really like seeing my ideas come to life through an artist's representation, so if that's something you'd like to do please let me know. (I can't pay you or anything; I can really only give my gratitude and a shout-out in the story you illustrate. XD) But yeah, please check this artwork out!
