Things have changed a lot in my life and looking back at my writing just made me sad and realize how many mental issues I had to work out. Now I'm in college and still depressed but at least I'm a better writer and not a psycho anymore! cool. This site will forever mean a lot to me as it is where I've met some of my best friends. They helped me get through an impossible time in my life and I'm not sure I would be alive to write this if it weren't for them. They were there when the only things I could count on for comfort in real life were my stuffed animals. So thank you. Forever. You know who are. Black Valentine Info- The Blog: https:/ / ripple237. wixsite . com / blackvalentinehg (delete the spaces) -info on the Quell, Matchmaker, Mentors, Tributes, and other characters. Arena info coming at a later date -2022 UPDATE: new info and characters -on mobile its a little wonky, just an fyi Overview of My Stories 1. And the Blossoms Turned Red -my first completed SYOT. It's not very good but it's very special to me because it's a success of a really hard time in my life. Looking back, I'm not sure how I survived living through my domestic abuse and severe mental illness but finishing this story and of course all my wonderful friends contributed to my survival. So thus, it will always be a special story to me. 2. Carousel -a complete waste of potential. This was going to be my sequel to And the Blossoms Turned Red. My writing had already improved so much and I had a great story planned! However, my depression hit really hard in 2016 and the story turned quickly to hiatus, but not after I wrote an incredibly disturbing Reaping chapter I can only describe as a extreme lapse of judgement and a manifestation of my deep seated mental issues. I have recently re-uploaded the original summary of the Games that I wrote back in 2016, mostly as a reminder to myself. 3. Black Valentine - my newest story. Hopefully will be an example of how far I've come both as a storyteller but also in terms of mental stability. The premise is a little wonky, but I think it'll be really fun if I can actually manage to finish it. Hopefully I will. As of the 2020 SYOT Awards, Black Valentine has won Best Quell Twist and Best Blog! Thank you to everyone who voted for it, it means so much to me and I feel very grateful. She was easily one of my favorite characters of all time and I think in another world, she could have won. There are so many things I want to say about her. She was so unique and spawned spontaneously from brain and it was just a perfect. This was probably the most accurate portrayal of any of my characters and I was so thankful I subbed her this syot. Rest in peace Lana Lotus, you were a god among men. -Placement: 6th Place -Story: A Perfect Union by: ladyqueerfoot Lemon Silanas (D9F, 17)*- Lemon never got to be written and honestly I think that is for the best. She was an old tribute of mine who was extremely cracked out, and since I decided to not resub her, I decided to just let her rest in finality. -Placement: 6th Place -Story: The Hours: The Third Quarter Quell by: AmericanPi Carter Lasher (D10M, 18)-Carter was one of the first tributes I ever submitted. There wasn't much substance to his form but he meant a lot to me. He ended up being my first character to ever place in story (because of cancellations and hiatus). This character and the story he was in meant a lot to me and it helped me through a difficult time. It also served as a spring board to meet some amazing people that I am still friends with today. I will never forget this character and this story. -Placement: 6th Place -Story: 101st Hunger Games: Forwards and Backwards by: Jms2 Chrysanthemum "Chrys" Suiki (D11F, 14)-I really loved Chrys. I really loved the backstory and personality I crafted for her. She was a fun character, but I didn't expect her to do that well. She surprised me though, and she made it past the bloodbath and all the way to the top 8! She died in a pretty horrific way and I hope she's at least at peace. Rip girl. -Placement: 8th Place -Story: Blood Grants: The 60th Games by: IVolunteerAsAuthor Checkers Chopin (D8F-NB, 15)-Checkers was truly an amazing character. I loved making them and they were such a nice departure for me and I just really enjoyed their uniqueness. They were written perfectly and just how I imagined. They were a bright spot and a welcome joy in an otherwise very dark story. Checkers had a lot of love to give, and I am so sad that I sent them to die. -Placement: 9th Place -Story: Domestic Tranquility by: ladyqueerfoot Nokomis Yanaba (D10F, 16)-I really liked Nokomis from way back when I made, but she definitely wasn't as interesting as some of my other tributes. She was just a simple girl who liked poetry and was very bad at it. Speaking of poetry, I thought her death was fun and she also got the first ever kill in Hunger Games history in that verse, so that was kinda neat. -Placement: 9th Place -Story: Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Death by: Paradigm of Writing Neptune Fontus (D4M, 18)-Neptune was like this zen assassin and honestly was pretty cool and also well-liked and I expected him to go far. He did not. Still, I really liked him for what he was and I have found memories of creating him. -Placement: 10th Place -Story: Journey to the Top: The 18th Games by: IVolunteerAsAuthor Cole Fyre (D6M, 17)- This name is absolutely atrocious, but the concept behind his character wasn't that bad for the age I was. I think his name will forever live in infamy though because wow is it bad. -Placement: 10th Place -Story: The 127th Hunger Games by: TheTributesWhoLived34 Asprin Alenns (D8M, 18)-this mans was an heir to drug cartel which was kinda wild. He was actually an ok guy and was well-liked but when he got bodied...he got bodied. -Placement: 13th Place -Story: The 17th Hunger Games: At Wits End by: IVolunteerAsAuthor Pathons "Helen Bedd" Ester (CPM, 17)*-I'm so glad that I finally get to add this mans to my list. I think he was ahead of his time, being a drag queen tribute in 2015. His character was a bit of a mess, but I'm proud of him nevertheless. -Placement: 15th Place -Story: The Capitol Games II by: FlawlessCatastrophe Nathan Evans (D8M, 16)- I literally don't remember anything about this character than that I had to change his gender because the D8F slot was already full. RIP I guess. Now you died twice. -Placement: 19th Place -Story: Second Chance by: CreativeAJL Sequoia Sable (D7F, 12)-Sequoia's backstory was simple but pretty neat. She did all these spooky wood carvings on trees and stuff but she was a sweetheart. However, sweethearts don't automatically win the Games. -Placement: 23rd Place -Story: The Altar of Blood: 103rd Hunger Games by: ZJB3 Grese Heathers (D6F, 17)-I don't really remember much about Grese. I do remember that she was really strong and almost joined the careers but instead got taken out in the bloodbath because she was a threat. Thank you for giving me the elusive first death of the Hunger Games. -Placement: 24th Place -Story: The World in Balance: The 102nd Hunger Games(SYOT) by: ZJB3 My Victors Quanta Bomm (D3F, 13)- Quanta. My first victor. This means a lot to me. I'm so happy that I finally have a victor and that Quanta had the honor of being the first one. Here's to more victors! XD. But I loved Quanta. She is a hyperactive genius who loves explosives and pineapples. She made some good friends, especially the D10 boy, Dargo. They went to end together and he died in her arms after a fatal wound. She had a plan that wiped out the career alliance, and used her crossbow skills to kill the girl from 12 and the girl from 8, both in defense of Dargo. She's a spitfire and deserves her win. I love you Quanta. May you be at peace with your pineapples. :D Kills: 6 Weapon: Crossbow Story: The Altar of Blood: 103rd Hunger Games by: ZJB3 Magenta Firewall (CPF, 16)*-Magenta. I never expected to see you on here. I really thought you were lost to my graveyard of so many kids that were lost to hiatus. Even if the story had continued, I never expected her to win, but boy did 15 year old me want her to. I really adored her character and I had such a good time making a cracked out Capitol character to take advantage of that SYOT rarity. She was also probably one of the two best characters I made from back in the day (even though her last name is fucking awful), so I was incredibly nostalgic for her and very attached. Adding her to my Victor's Village in 2021 was not something that I ever saw coming. It was such a shock and a such a nice surprise to see her Games summarized. I'm so happy to have her back on my profile and ecstatic that she gets to join my other Victors. Love you my pink hair binch. Kills: 2 Weapon: Technology Story: The Capitol Games II by: FlawlessCatastrophe Medusa Gorgona (D2F, 18)-Medusa is one of my favorite characters I’ve ever made. She’s a “modern take on an old classic.” She had a very hard life that was directly inspired by Greek mythology and then she found herself in the Games. Ultimately, she made a first real friend within the career alliance but it’s the Hunger Games and there can only be one winner. I loved making her and loved reading her. I’m so glad she won and she’s also especially important to me because she was the first character I made after getting back into syots. Congrats girl, you earned it. Kills: 4 Weapon: Scimitars Story: Let the Good Times Roll: The 60th Hunger Games by: LadyCordeliaStuart Rook Karis (D3M, 16)-Rook was one of those characters that caught me off guard. I didn't expect him to win at all. I liked him well enough but I tried to distance myself from him because of the bits of myself I put into his character. For a while I didn't want him to win but as time went on, I fell in love with his character again and was rooting for him to win. The way his character was written was one of the best depictions of one of my characters EVER. It was just as I imagined it and more. This story was incredible and legitimately one of the best syots ever. Check it out if you have time. Kills: 2 Weapon: Knife Story: Recrudesce by: Red Castellan Sapphira Starlett (D1F, 17)-Sapphira, my dahling. She is probably my favorite character I've ever made for a syot. Her backstory was probably one of the most unique and developed concepts I've ever come up with and it was incredibly close to my heart as a fan of the world of film. Sapphira is definitely a character that is almost a romanticized version of me, but who also has so many deep layers and unique elements that go beyond myself. She is truly a fantastic character and I found myself rooting for her victory more than any other tribute I've ever made. Part of that was due to the author of the story she was, in developing her so well and making me care for a fictional character more than I ever had before. Reading her path to victory was one of the most satisfying things in my whole thing. If you're curious about her character journey, I would recommend reading the story she and won and its sequel. They are both amazing syots that I think have a fantastic mix of humor and sophistication. Thank you Sapphira Starlett. You will always be a star.
