![]() Author has written 4 stories for Halo, Cyberpunk 2077, Warhammer, Naruto, Mass Effect, and Jujutsu Kaisen/呪術廻戦. you wanna know the funny thing. I'm still working on the mortal son. Yeah. It's been a damn year, and what a hell of a year its been. Found the job of my dreams, moved in with my girlfriend, and started to finally have a complete life for myself. My surgery has healed and I'm free for once. utterly, totally, free. But "why no update?" Because the beginning of the story is done. It's finished. Balor set up everything I needed to set up for this "second phase" of the narrative. Zerbe. The Eldar. Chaos. The Imperial Webway. Fulgrim. Nurgle. Russ. Alpharius. Dorn. There are SO MANY moments I have to plan for. And it's a lot y'all. Like a lot a lot. And then after that, the end of the damn story. The battle for Cadia / Terra, depends on how I get everything set up. The Mortal Son started as a few scene experimentations that I wrote as stand alone moments, that later had a narrative tied into them, and now its the story that you all have. So yeah. It's taking its damn time, only because I can't just sit down and shit out a few connecting scenes for these pre written moments to attach to. The next Chapter, Hubris, is sitting at 7 thousand words. It is the most edited and drafted Chapter I've ever put up. I'm sorry its taking so long but FF has always been a hobby. Not a career. If you can't wait for free literature to take the time that a burnt out author requires in order to release the story, then please leave. For the rest of yall, just keep your notifications on, and I'll just be here, doing my thing. One way or another, bit by bit I'm gonna finish this story, but it's just gotten to a scale that I wasn't fully prepared for. So I gotta knuckle down and get my plot in line. My original google document for the story has exceeded the doc's capacity for information, and it has capped out at about 400,000 words with images and lore sources. The Mortal Son has become a daunting yet monumental tax on my free time. And if you're like, "well what about your other story, why update that when you can work on mortal son" because What it Means to be a Monster is stress free. I can have fun just putting together a bunch of fight scenes without necessarily having to come up with an air tight story. Bleh. Love you all, Freedom. |
