It's been a very long time since my last update, and for that, I can only apologize. I tried to force myself back into writing consistently with my last update, and for obvious reasons, that didn't work out. Hell, I never even got Chapter 21 done like I said I would.
On that note... Chapter 21 will never come out, because I've made the tough decision to discontinue The Trials of Destiny, as well as my Rio series. I had this huge, grandiose plan for where those stories would eventually go, but casting such a wide net and then having the shadow of that misguided declaration looming over me every time I tried to sit down to write crushed any motivation to write, and for the last several months, I avoided it like the plague. For a good bit as well, I stopped reading too, which isn't something I normally do.
Because of that, I've decided the only way I can be efficient and stay sane writing stories is to only work on one story. Tomorrow, I will be removing all other stories from my page. The Trials of Destiny will still be available for you to read, if you so choose, on my Fimfiction page, and The True Homefront will still be here, since it's already a completed story.
As a writer, and lately as a devout Pokémon fan, I've decided I'll be focusing on The Power of Us. Even though I've only written a few chapters for it, I always very much enjoyed sitting down and writing those chapters, and I've always liked writing longer chapters anyway, which many Pokémon fics are notorious for. Combine that with a huge burst of inspiration to write for it that I had while at work today, and I feel energized to write for the first time in a long while. On top of that, the past few months I've been working to get into eSports and am pursuing a potential work-from-home job which will maximize my potential free time to write, which will only push my motivation to write even higher.
The last thing I want to note is that, at least for a little while, those who are used to my chaotic schedule should stick for that formula. My schedule, as I mentioned in my last update way back last April, has indeed changed to me having every weekend off, which means I have consistent time to work on my story when I'm not busy with other things, but I do want to say that because of this new change - which, by the way, didn't happen until October INSTEAD OF JULY - once I'm back into the swing of things and have established a good balance, I will begin uploading more consistently. For now, I'm sticking to the one month per chapter formula that I originally had for The Power of Us, in order to give myself the time to flesh out each chapter and make it truly special, but once I'm better off, expect updates every two to three weeks, and usually on Saturday unless I'm busy and the chapter gets delayed.
That said, I need to be getting to bed for work in the morning, so I hope y'all have a good rest of your night. Enjoy whatever you read, and I'll see y'all either in the next update or when The Power of Us gets an update!
