![]() Author has written 7 stories for Harry Potter, Mass Effect, Total War series, and Merlin. Hello and welcome to my profile. It's not much at the moment, but it's all mine. My main story, An Enlightened Universe is and will continue to be updated three to four times every month (hopeful, probably, maybe...). It is an alternative universe to the canon one, and I can't stress that enough. The total war series are adapted from sessions I have played. Everything that happens is basicly a dramatisation of what actually happened in-game. Happy reading and thank you for your time. Update: 5th April 2015 Alright, so you might have been wondering where the new chapters are for HP. They are not coming as of yet, because I'm re-writing at least half the story. This is because the first ten chapters were written as if I were doing a what if fanfic, instead of the story I'm now doing. You probably noticed the abrupt change in style and story around chapter 20. My aim is to totally re-write some chapters (all the short ones for example) and add in and take away things that need to be done. This is ideally the only time I will do this for the whole book, but it might happen again for a specific set of chapters. For readers, you will be informed when the changes are completed, as it will require re-reading most of the fic again as it is new material. Apologies for any inconvenience caused. Quick update on this. The first thirty chapters are ready and rewritten. Particulary the first ten as I said, every short one has been added too, and there a new cohesion to everything you should pick up. We are also nearing the fifty thousand view boundary (something I certainly wasn't expecting to cross given how the story is both my first fix and has fundamentally changed thrice so far). Happy reading.* 5th July Update: Right then, the rewrite is nearly over and I've started a few side projects in the meantime which I plan to continue along with AEU. One of the bigger problems I found with rewriting it was that, perhaps because it was my first attempt, it was so bound up in fanfic convention that the min cast were insufferable, the story was basic and the only saving grace of the whole story was the writing itself. I've spent much thought I how to keep the Enlightened from being Mary Sueish (oddly enough, fixing Harry's tendency to be like that actualy made me think of a vital plot point). So this update is essentially about some of the reasons (real life was at play also) why there has been such a delay in new chapters. I would also like to underline the three basic rules I had/have in writing this and all of my stories thus far: 1) The characters must be as real as I can make them in their actions and thoughts. No one is all seeing and no one is ever always right. 2) If a character, with the knowledge and skills they posses, cannot get out a situation, they will be hit full force with the impact. This also means anyone can die at any time (Harry has a brief saftey net until he sorts his head out but after that all bets are off). 3) There are NO rules the characters HAVE to follow. Voldemort is not forced to wait until the end of the school year. This does not mean a character (particulary dramatic ones) will not willingly follow rules of drama to big themselves up (depending on how intelligent they are). This also means that things introduced may not necessarily 'work out' or become relevant later. Basically this is a rule imposed deliberately to prevent bullshit like one of the characters learning something is possible and then doing it themselves ALL OF THE TIME. There was an additional little thing I post-it noted onto my laptop 'Make Voldemort just below par with Dumbledore (a man so clever that he practically dictated seven years worth of events and played canon Voldemort like a violin). Give a dear sweet reason as to WHY people are frickin' terrified of him and never speak his name.' Bearing all that in mind, happy reading and I'll be writing just as soon as I can. Update July 19th: The big re-write is over and the new stuff is ready to flow out. I would recommend re-reading earlier chapters of AEU for there are some changes, though not very many major ones (basic grammar and spelling corrections and a few new passages added none withstanding). I promise to review every fic I read from now on, including utter pieces of garbage and utterly flawless works of brilliance, because I know how frustrating it is to have a fic with lots of views and little feedback to go with.
