Major lifestyle change, and a long-term goodbye
I have some stories on here that have been unfinished for too long; while I have always planned to come back and finish them, some things have happened with my family this last year that helped me realize that I simply cannot finish them the way I had wanted to.
Long story short: Last summer, we moved 2100 miles away from home for a couple of jobs. After we got here, the psychotic manager sacked us after only a month. My husband became disabled very suddenly, and can no longer completely take care of himself. We currently have no way to support ourselves, no health insurance (whoever called ObamaCare "Affordable Care" LIED!) and have lost nearly everything we own. I can't even go out and get a job right now, because I've suddenly become a full-time driver and caregiver for my beloved husband.
I am starting to write short stories to sell on Amazon Kindle (my newest one, Just Friends, by An Wallace, just came out three weeks ago) to try and earn some extra money until something else comes up. My Phantom of the Opera novel, Letters to Erik, by An Wallace, came out in 2008, and I'm currently working with Amazon to try and lower the price. My every spare minute is going into writing these Kindle books, so I am going to try and tie up loose ends here on FFN so I can really concentrate on the writing that pays.
What this means for my FFN friends is that I am going to post whatever scenes I have already had written for each of my unfinished stories, along with any notes and short explanations of what happens and how the stories end. I simply don't have the time to finish them properly, and I don't feel right about leaving them unfinished for years at a time. I'm going to borrow the idea from Kaz2, who finally finished "Falling Further In" with notes alone, after years of abandonment. As she says, "There's no way I have another 80,000 words in me," to do my unfinished stories justice. My apologies, but there it is.
Thank you all for reading my stories over the years, and for the comments, reviews, critique, and friendships that I have made here since I started writing. Several of you I would love to keep in touch with, so please feel free to email me, or send me a message through FFN, and keep in touch! (And feel free to buy my Kindle books and review them positively!) :D
So be on the lookout for some notes, some missing chapters, possibly even some fragments of unrelated oneshots, and try to think kindly of me even if I'm not able to finish all my stories the way I'd like to.
Many thanks and blessings to you all.
