Author has written 12 stories for Harry Potter, and West Wing.
Ok, so, I'm Rae, I'm 22 years old and I live in a teeny little town in the North West of England. Writing fanfiction used to be all my life was about and then I got a boyfriend and went to uni and got a part-time job and then I got engaged and I graduated and my part-time job became a little more full-time and somewhere along the way I lost track of the people I used to know and the things I used to do. My friends, though they didn't know it, were a huge influence on my work back then and I'd like to think that, although I don't keep in touch with them the way I used to (and I must say it works the other way, too) they remember my work and they come and read it and remember the themes from our lives that have created these stories.
But in the four or five years that I've been missing from the fanfiction world I've grown up a lot and I've cut out a lot of the things that weren't good for me and brought back a lot of tough-learned lessons that I'm hoping will improve my writing in some much needed ways. For this reason before I start any new stories (and believe me, in the years I've been away the ideas have piled up) I'm going to re-work some of the exisiting ones; improve them and finish them, one at a time so as to not get side-tracked with other projects. I can't promise regular updates or that the new work will be a mirror of the old but then, what would be the point in re-doing it if it was a complete copy? The majority of the fanfiction I have authored I am satisfied with and as such the only changes I intend to make are those concerning grammar and the occassional spelling mistake, a problem I could have rectified in the first place had I used a beta reader. The Harry Potter inspired 'Growing Up Is Hard To Do' is the one story I intend to completely re-write, this is my first and longest story and will take the most work to complete and so I intend to start with this one. The original will stay online, not for any glory seeking by me ('Look at how many stories I have and how many reviews I have') but for me, as evidence of my work and as evidence of how far I have progressed and, hopefully, in a few years I can look at the newly-written 'Growing Up' and once again see how far I have come. Life is but a series of challenges and some times you need to see where you were before they came to see how far you've come.
After 'Growing Up' I will move onto its sister story 'The Missing Year' and after that, who knows. Those grammar changes will be made and 'Dreamland Reminiscing' will be completed and after that...I think the follow-up to 'Miracle' will be long overdue, don't you?
So now that you've heard my intentions I'll share a few quick details with you and then you can get on with reading the stories...
Books, Films and TV shows I Adore
Harry Potter, everything
Honestly, I could go on forever...
