Now onto my opninion of some of my favorites and former favorites (the black list)

To me, Kishimoto knows nothing about psychology and became a freaking Tolkien for anime and manga. Seriously, by the whole battle between Madara and the Shinobi Alliance it becomes obvious the messiah role for Naruto... and then he comes with the whole angry tree of knowledge and the Savior who descends and teaches about peace. Kishimoto turned Naruto and Sasuke into Abel and Cain, with the first based on love and the second on the desire for power. As Naruto holds love he is the only one who can save the Shinobi World and Sasuke is destined to fight him. And you cannot find any faults in any former leader related to Konoha (Sarutobi, Minato, Jiraiya, Kakashi, Hashirama) or even in the founder of Shinobi, Hagoromo. The series became a freaking ripp of from Christian Tradition (Mesiah, Deviant and Love for All)

Basically, Konoha is the chosen village to lead the change and its Shinobi hold the potential for such change to occur. One should totally ignore the fact that the First Hokage giving Bijuu to the other main powers is to arm your possible enemies and bring suffering to future Jinchirikis out of your reach if you are supposedly "kind". Ignore also the stupidity of Minato for thinking everything would be alright without making sure his son would not be hated after having the Kyoubi sealed inside him (it was bound to happen even without Obito, as the tradition calls for the children of village leaders to become the candidates for Jinchuriki). Ignore as well Sarutobi's failure as a grandfather figure: sure the kid would be fine on his own as long as nobody tries to kill him for becoming the new Jinchuriki; and better idea to reveal his role to people who had just suffered because of the Bijuu; and let the one who holds a really powerful demon to become a clown who does not take being a Shinobi seriously, without proper guidance or training. And finally Kakashi and Jiraiya... WTF! what kind of teachers are they? Im supposed to pass as normal that you only teach your students the tree walking and then ignore most of them in favor of focusing on the clan remnant? And The pervert spends three years teaching Naruto how to do a bigger Rasengan and resist the power of the Bijuu until the third tail.

Such role models, all of them.

The other secondary characters became completely useless by the Fourth Shinobi War. Screw tactics, screw experience, screw a wide variety of techniques. Only the power tanks are important and you might as well throw the rest of your army like an horde against a freaking immortal demigod (Madara) hoping it does damage. Neji's death was so stupid. What about substitution jutsu, it is supposed to go in the basics for gennin and people seemed amnesiac regarding its use.

The only Shnobi thing left in the series is the use of kunai. You must fight your enemies with raw energy and counter power with power (kind of like Dragon Ball Z). Is there a need to shout a jutsu to your enemy at all?

And finally, Naruto himself. You expect me to believe that the kid who puts no effort at all because of a clone jutsu, which he does not even use to the best, and has suffered from being ignored on a basic level is truly capable to understand the darkness of the Shinobi World? His answer to Pain was Obama Style "Yes we can" and his usual way to deal with deviants and enemies is to pulverize them until they either get his point or they die, all suddenly understanding his way. Because the guy can never be wrong.

Please, such a character is not fit for leadership, nor can he save anyone who disagrees with his ideals. One must know how to understand both light and Shadow and use them to rule in a war torn world. It is worse than cannon Shirou from Fate/Stay Night, for he at least got a distorsion to justify things.

My complain is that Ichigo receives way too many power-ups. It should have stopped with the understanding between his inner hollow, Zangetsu Ossan and himself (some quincy skills can be accepted). Calling for true powers is just a way to extend stuff and complicates things unnecesarily.

Black Sword wants to show that things could have gone quite differently if Kubo didn't hide the crimes of Shinigami adding new enemies bent on destroying Seireitei and the Soul King. They are always the good guys because the focus is on the evil of the betrayers, the Arrancar or the Quincy Army.

I will only say one thing. A good story knows when to end. It should not have reached such extension in developing the plot for the sake of more characters, character development and power-ups. No matter how interesting it seems, I think it has become too long in duration, trying to compete with Conan.

I love harem genre, though I would like the MCs to not be such whimps regarding their love interests... it becomes repetitive and quite annoying. But above all, this story possesed such a good context, a terrorist organization and international politics. But screw that, let's focus on romance which never adavances and silly adventures for most of the anime, only pointing important events in two episodes from 12.

The concept was good, the development sucked.

I think a good crossover destroys the original plot and creates it anew, quoting Lelouch.

Why bother adding your favorite characer(s) into a new universe or mixing them if you will only change some of the fights and focus on pairing? This usally leads to the same ending or even your character becoming a shadow which only advises or gives an opinion.

You gotta remake the plot as you see fit, always making reading convincing even when you are just aiming for your desired ending. There is no true pleasure on reading the very same thing which you watched on internet or manga.

The fics I'm currently working on are part of a project called "Demon Lord Heroes" which deals with some of my favorite characters in fiction turning into this path in order to defy both fate and the cruelty of their worlds. They explore the archetypes of hero, villain and antihero, as well as the call to complete a prophecy.
