My updates are going to be slow for quite a while, probably; my muse/soundboard is unreachable for a year and a half, I'm trying to finish my original books (which take priority, sorry) and I'm starting a semester of collage taking 18 credits. So yeah, sorry guys, but my life's crazy right now. Know that I have not abandoned my writing, it just isn't very high on my priority list.
Name: Crystal Waters! Or Richard. Maybe Brandon... Far as you know, I could be Arantoro Flahrtie.
Age: Somewhere between 2 and 1258.
Hometown: Nunyaville. It's a really interesting place, right next to getlost cove and in the middle of forgetit island. We don't get many visitors for some reason.
Gender: I'm sure you can figure it out if you try hard enough.
Deviantart: My profile name's Estelliot. I have two stories up, and five pictures. And more that I really should get around to posting.
The two great laws of humanity: 1. Thou shalt not kill. Only slightly less known and nearly as important is 2. Thou shalt never don multiple items of tie-dye at once, lest they be tie-dye socks.
FYI: My username is not just because I'm weird and know weird stuff. When I was making this account I was watching Bones, specifically the episode with the bones in the burning car where it looks like they've melted. One of the lines, used several times, in that episode is "bones don't melt" so I figured I'd use it as a username.
Feel free to post telling me if you don't like a specific thing in one of my stories (no blatant hatred please, just questions about why I did something), because I like being able to explain my thinking about why I did things. I don't expect my explanations to make you immediately agree with me or even change your mind at all, but I personally like having both sides of the story (why I chose it and why you don't like it) even if we agree to disagree.
I love reviews, so feel free to comment on anything, and if you want to PM I'm totally open.
One more thing: if you have a request for something for me to write, I'll at least look into it but I don't write anything M-rated and generally avoid romance.
About my Story preferences/writing style:
First thing you've gotta know about me is that I don't write romance. I read romance sometimes, but I honestly can't write it to save my life. So if ever there is romance in one of my stories, the most you'll probably get out of it is them holding hands or something like that. Plus, I prefer slow progression in romances, so that's another reason that if you're looking for something racy... better look somewhere else.
I WRITE SLOW. Not like it takes me three months to write a chapter (well, sometimes), but like my plots are the slowest-moving things in the world. And if you aren't in for the long haul you probably shouldn't read my multi-chapter fics.
My favorite things to write are character studies; like how a character would react to X or what they were thinking when Y happened, and especially interactions between two characters and why they act that way.
I have a tendency to forget about stories for a very very long time, but I don't like leaving things unfinished so everything will probably be finished eventually.
I've noticed that my oneshots are a lot more depressing than my actual stories.
Speaking of my stories, one of my favorite things to write is character development and insights into people's thoughts or why they did something, and I especially love character interactions. So sometimes I get a bit carried away. Carried away meaning I'll write chapters upon chapters of what I think (and maybe you think) are interesting or funny character meetings and interactions instead of just getting to the plot already.
Speaking of interesting/funny: I have a weird sense of humor. Just a heads up, because I really like dramatic irony and sarcasm, and sometimes I laugh at things I probably shouldn't. So if one of my stories is labeled humor it's because I find it funny, but if you have a more conventional sense of humor, you might not find it that way.
I also write drama. I don't try to, but no matter what I do just a little bit of drama manages to sneak its way into my stories. What can I say? I love it when the quiet character suddenly snaps and gives Mr High-and-Mighty a verbal smackdown.
I try to keep all of my characters in character (sometimes, I admit, they get away from me), but if they are acting purposely differently then they should, I will have an in-story reason. For instance, if a character never went through that traumatic event they went through in their cannon childhood, I would write them how I think they would be if that event had never happened.
I don't character-bash. I may insult a character, but usually that's when I'm writing as another character. For instance, calling Joey Wheeler an ingrate would be a Kaiba thing.
Everything I write will be in third person. Sometimes omnipotent, sometimes following a specific character. I absolutely hate second person, I don't mind first but I don't like writing in it.
About crossovers: all crossovers I write will be between two shows (movies/books/games/etc) that I love, so there will never be a time where I just bash the cast of one or make them look like fools next to the other characters. No, I actually might make them look like fools, but it'll all be in good fun and they'll get their revenge.
Stories: Name: length, fandom(s), brief description, update schedule (if applicable)
Well This is Depressing...: Oneshot, Ouran High School Host Club, my most angsty piece. (Also, needs a better name...) I would not recommend.
Analyzing the Enemy: Oneshot, The Princess Bride, Vizzini being snarky.
Musings of a Kaiba: Oneshot, Yu-gi-oh, Kaiba's thoughts about Joey's coping methods.
That Sickening Feeling: Oneshot, 07-Ghost, how the friendship between Mikage and Teito began.
Caruso's Idea: Oneshot, Dino Squad, Caruso's suggestion on how Buzz should deal with a bully.
Roll With the Punches: Oneshot, Fruits Basket, funny little 1000-word shot about the first time Shigure and Ayame pretended to be in love with each other.
Defense: Oneshot, Fruits Basket, Yuki and Kyo friendship-fic in which they don't like liking each other.
Eyes: Oneshot, Teen Titans, Robin musing about secret identities.
Snapped: Oneshot, Teen Titans, Beast Boy goes bad. Kinda depressing. Interesting to write, but also would not recommend.
Beyond the Grave: Oneshot, Star Wars, Han solo, despite not being a jedi, is back as a force projection to set his son straight.
Deduced on Sight: 3 chapters, Sherlock, John comes back from Afghanistan and meets Sherlock for the first time.
Chronicles of a Drunken Cat: 5 chapters, Fruits Basket, funny multi-chap on exactly what it says in the title.
Real Magic: 11 chapters. Fairy Tail and Avatar: the Last Airbender. Sokka has conniptions about Fairy Tail magic after being sucked into their world.
Undercover: Chapter 57 posted. Yu-gi-oh. Supposed to be humor/adventure, but mostly just character development... because I like analyzing characters. I'm back! Writing on the fly, updates will be whenever I finish the next chapter.
Flower: 9 chapters posted. Harry Potter Marauder Era, Humor/friendship/some drama later on. OC story, the first one I've felt is not too mary-sue-ish to hide from the world permanently. Writing this one on the fly.
Forced on Your Own Adventure: Yugioh edition: Yu-gi-oh, this is an unplanned writing challenge so pretty much everything is up in the air.
