Author has written 23 stories for Shaman King, Naruto, Gakuen Alice, and Yuri!!! on Ice.
Current Status: Partially active. If I'm able to post more than three times in a year AFTER a break of three and a half years, then I must be really coming back.
16-Jan-2017: I ventured into another fandom and posted an OtaYuri fic. I've been a fujoshi for years, but this is the first time I attempted to write one. It's not my best, but I really wanted to write something before life suffocates me again. And because I can't get enough of OtaYuri.
15-Dec-2016: Here's something to celebrate my last day of class this semester: a crazy RenPiri featuring Men! Yay to family fics! Yay to winter break! One more semester and I AM DONE with grad school!
09-May-2016: This year must be a writing year for me. Can you believe I posted another one shot? And in the GA fandom this time! Crazy.
28-Jan-2016: I swear I did not plan on updating this quick! It's impulse, I tell you. Random ideas plus the drive and time to actually write. I always have the former but I am always short of the latter. I am as shocked as you are.
27-Jan-2016: Hello, world! It has been three and a half years since I've been here. A lot has happened. I worked, I resigned, I migrated from the Philippines to the United States. Thank the giant snowstorm for my 1000-word update on Sweet Nothings. Snowstorm equals nothing to do, which led to a Shaman King binge-watching and Yohna fic hunting, which led to re-reading Sweet Nothings, missing writing, and actually writing and posting a chapter. Because this is just an impulse that I acted upon, I cannot promise when I will be updating my fics again. Sorry. But I hope you enjoy my latest one!
Disclaimer: I do not own the characters nor the anime/manga of the fan fictions I write. I can only account the plot and the original characters as my property. This disclaimer applies to all my works here in this site.
Me, Myself, and My Alter Ego
My name is Laine, and I've been writing fics since high school (you do the math). I like canon pairs (with some exceptions) and I am picky with writing style for when I both read and write; that includes terminology, grammar, and character development. I am not equipped to write chaptered stories, so expect only vignettes and one shots from me. I believe in growth and development, that's why I haven't deleted any of my works here (except for one, since it's a chaptered fic I can't continue anymore) since I started writing no matter how much they suck now that I look back on them. Looking back makes me proud of how far I've come now. It's a long, ongoing journey. I also have a FictionPress account, but I write even less there than I do here.
My Pride: I think my writing started to mature around 2010. That's based on my personal standard though. So I'm definitely proud of any story or chapter posted 2010 onwards. Like when I re-read it, I'd tell myself, "You are one awesome writer!" Well, that's just me. Let me know if you agree.
My OTPs: YohAnna, NejiTen, SakuSyao, NatsuMikan, ShihoShinichi/ConanAi, RoyRiza, YuraRikuo, ZoroSanji, KarmaNagisa, HaruRin, IwaOikawa, KuroFai, OtaYuri
The Community I Founded
Front and Center, is reserved for various fics of the same theme or genre. It contains mostly Romance and Angst, and albeit Humor and Tragedy. Drama, Horror, and Mystery are also welcome. Simply put, it is an extension of my favorites. The good fics are here and the better fics are found in my favorites tab. This is not updated anymore though.
On Reading and Reviews
Yes, I am an impulsive writer, but that doesn’t change the fact that I am still and avid reader. I still often browse over numerous categories varying from Anime/Manga, Books, Movies, to TV Shows.
On reviews, I, for one, am not a regular reviewer. Guilty as charged; but I know how important they are for authors. It’s not just for the support and motivation; friends and fans are bonuses too. So, I am practicing a new way of appreciating fics. Instead of automatically adding a fic to your faves, or worse, doing nothing, try to leave a simple ‘I LIKE IT’ as comments. Think of it as giving kudos like in AO3. You’d be amazed how such simple words can do wonders to authors like me. Please try it. I really hope you do. Thank you!
