![]() Author has written 10 stories for How to Train Your Dragon, and Lord of the Rings. Me: I am a thirty year old male with a boring office job involving numbers and risk, but that is unimportant. I have always been fascinated by dragons. More broadly I am intrigued by stories or myths that involve any non-human, sentient beings. This is what Tolkien referred to as the 'Fairy Story', i.e. a story that explores the interactions between humans and fantastical creatures. Current projects: - The Dark Tree - Sequel to Ring Of Fire (HTTYDxLOTR crossover). This project is on indefinite haitus. Acknowledgments: For my cover art for my profile and Brothers Of Night I must give credit for the original to Madpatti on Deviant Art (check out their work there if you like HTTYD fan art). I got permission to use their original image and modified it to fit my needs. Recommended writers: VigoGrimborne, Cke1st, 10Blue10 The top stories that I would especially recommend are the following along with the universe, story title, author, and a brief story description.
BROTHERS OF NIGHT - CHILDREN OF DAWN UNIVERSE - PRIMARY FAMILY TREES (SPOILERS) Shadowwing (M, dark Night Fury) and Luna (F, white Light Fury) Was-Grounded (M, dark Night Fury) and Green-Wings (F, dark-green Night Fury) HTTYD: THE HIDDEN WORLD - (SPOILERS/PERSONAL THOUGHTS) HTTYD: The Hidden World has numerous plot holes, uses ex-machina plot devices, introduced an incompetent villain who succeeds through chance, completely changed the characterization of key people compared to the prior films, ignored existing foreshadowing, misunderstands the concepts of maturity, leadership, and friendship, applauds toxic relationships, proposes race-segregation and isolation as the means to peace between different groups, turned Hiccup into the instrument of Grimmel's lasting victory, and proposes that social change can happen without anyone actively working for it. In other words, we can give up on our dreams for a better world and maybe the world will change for the better. For these reasons, this film is a narrative failure and is completely unbecoming of the franchise. |
