Author has written 1 story for Percy Jackson and the Olympians, and Avengers.
I've decided to write again.
Alternate Timeline vs. Alternate Universe
Notes: In my opinion, there is a difference between an Alternate Timeline and an Alternate Universe. In an alternate timeline, the significant majority of the story remains the same up until a singular point of divergence within said story's canon timeline, the effects of which are explored in the writing. A story's canon timeline is defined as the specific period of time in which a writer/creator places their story in or writes in a point of divergence or alternate event. In an alternate universe, the very nature of the book's/movie's setting and dynamics are altered from the start or from a point/event beyond or not mentioned within the canon timeline, which results in a change of outcome/varied progression in nearly all major events.
Examples of Alternate Timelines:
Ichor, Sweat, Drachmas, and Tears - The dynamics of the PJO universe remain the same, with the POD being Zeus threatening Sally and Poseidon
Mare et Bellum - The POD is Percy's memories failing to return. A simple story.
Gotterdammerung - Yes, this is an alternate timeline. The story is the same up until the POD of Percy not exiting Tartarus with Annabeth. The effects of this POD, of course, are enormous, but don't detract from the fact the core dynamics of the PJO series are not altered.
Examples of Alternate Universes:
Phoenix Rising: The Decay of the Angel - The fact that it's a crossover should make it obvious.
Apres Moi Le Deluge- This will not be a rehash of the entire Mass Effect story with "Systems Alliance" replaced with "Sanctum Imperium Terrae." Things WILL change. Also, the fact that the POD is in 1095 AD should clear up the issue.
Notes: Merely a list of tropes/themes in certain franchises I like to explore.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians
Smart Perseus - The general plot of many of my stories and ideas require some degree of intellect by its characters to fulfill, which Mr. Riordan portrays Perseus as having little to none.
RomansOverGreeks - Romans are better than Greeks. Plain and simple.
Evil Perseus - Every single damn PJO fanfiction out there always ends with the Greeks winning even when Percy has a very well-justified grudge against the Greeks. What if Percy was fighting against the Greeks and won? That would be a great story to explore.
Military Perseus - Percy would be a perfect fit for the military - he's a warrior through and through. Inspired by Anaklusmos14's Lost and Found.
Anything But Democracy - Unite earth for over 150 years using a democratic system? Nice try. The Enlightenment and its consequences have been disastrous for the human race.
Halo Capital Ship Steamroll - Mass Effect and Halo Crossover? Halo wins every time. It's mathematically proven.
Notes: A list of characters from franchises that I think deserve more attention.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians
Ethan Nakamura - By and large one of the most underrated characters in the entire series. He had so much more potential than just being the stand-in who almost kills Annabeth. His mother told him he would bring balance, and Rick Riordan does absolute jack with that plot line.
Bianca di Angelo - Her similarity in age combined with Thalia and Perseus' presence makes everything more interesting. I feel her potential is wasted with RR killing her in the same book she's introduced in. Pairing her with Perseus doesn't count as utilizing her potential.
In-Progress Stories (Full Descriptions):
Phoenix Rising Trilogy
Ichor, Sweat, Drachmas and Tears - (Percy Jackson and the Olympians)
(M - Alternate Timeline) Staff Sergeant Perseus Andronikos Jackson-McRaven has seen much in his short life. From the New York City foster care system to the Fallujah meatgrinder, nothing much can faze the warfighter who intentionally threw himself into the meat grinder. That is, until someone claiming to be the 'god of the underworld' shows up at his FOB...
- Zeus threatens Sally, who is forced to give up Perseus to the foster care system.
- Perseus is adopted by an admiral, who sees something in him.
- Federal legislation lowers the minimum enlistment age to 15 due to the Iraq War.
- Perseus enlists in the USMC.
- The Great Prophecy age is adjusted.
Mare et Bellum - (Percy Jackson and the Olympians)
(M - Alternate Timeline) The hopes of Olympus rested on Hera and Artemis' plan. Their plan failed. Perseus Jackson's memories are gone forever, and he now rules New Rome alongside Reyna Ramirez-Arellano. The Greek delegation arrives to a reception of Imperial Gold. For better or worse, the iron fists of Sea and War shall lead Rome and her people into bloody war. Ave Praetores! Senatus Populusque Romanus!
- Perseus' memories do not return.
- Perseus and Reyna are praetors of Rome.
- Another Greco-Roman war is on the horizon with far more dire consequences.
- The plot of HoO is wiped and the Second Great Prophecy is only about reuniting the Romans and Greeks.
Gotterdammerung - (Percy Jackson and the Olympians)
(M - Alternate Timeline) Their plan succeeded, but at the cost of the son of the sea. Olympus won, but at the cost of the world. From the ashes of the old world rises an Olympian nation-state, poised to secure its rightful place as a superpower. However, an incident in old Yellowstone - now the Halcyon Reach - yields a new obstacle and a new enemy - the Ascendancy of the Northern Sun.
Inspired by Marquis Black's Empire
- Perseus doesn't make it out of Tartarus.
- His absence at the final battle means Gaia is able to shatter the world before falling asleep once more.
- The Mist is lifted and Olympus dominates the ruins of North America.
- A mystery: The Ascendancy of the Northern Sun.
Apres Moi Le Deluge - (Mass Effect and smatterings of Halo and Star Wars)
(M - Alternate Universe) In 1095 AD, Pope Urban II - or Papal Imperator Saint Urban II the Conqueror - launched the First Crusade. This time around, he succeeded. Not only did the Templar armies reclaim Jerusalem from the Saracens, but they also shattered an already fractured Muslim world, destroying the religion of Muhammad and leaving it as a minor footnote in history.
Centuries pass, and by 2100 AD the Sanctum Imperium Terrae succeeds in uniting the entirety of Terra under the Church. With the people's faith and fiery spirit of righteous conquest and evangelization behind him, the Papal Imperator turns the Imperium's eyes to the stars - the galactic void awaits them.
How will the Citadel react to a species fueled by the spirit of righteous conquest and embedded with the belief of showing all the true path to their god? The hanar would be pleased to have a similarly-minded species in the galaxy, for one. That is, of course, until the Iberian Ecclesiarchal Inquisition shows up unexpectedly.
(note: I've seen all types of human governments - imperial chancellorships, democratic republics, oligarchic autocracies, space communism, even an all-male fascist Aryan empire [shoutout to DerelictTyrant!] - but never a theocracy)
Downfall's Rising - (Percy Jackson and the Olympians)
I genuinely don't know what I was thinking when I first wrote this story. I admit I jumped the bandwagon with the whole 'Chaos Army' concept, but I believed I could make it unique - then again so do 90% of all the Percy Jackson fanfiction writers out there.
