Attention 'Day in the Life of...' and 'Promised' Readers!:
It's come time for me to put my feet on the ground and try to make (more) money off my trade. And that's writing. I originally got into fanfiction as a way to practice my craft. This site allowed me to write stories, post them, and have complete strangers read and review them. This showed me a little bit of what worked and what didn't. Well, I have a pretty good idea of what works now, although some reviewers are a little timid on telling you what doesn't. But... regardless, it's come time to finally tell my story. And by that, I mean, it's time for me to buckle up and write a book for publication.
How does this affect my fanfiction? Quite a bit, actually. It means the entire 'Day in the Life of' and 'Promised' series' will be taken down. Yes, you read that correctly. I will be taking down both of those series' in the vague future. Once my book is finished, they'll be coming down, since I did plagiarize a few of my own ideas.
However! There is a special surprise on its way. Update: Which is now released! A Life in the Day of Reno 2: Day Harder!
Final Trinity will still be here to stay. Since Final Trinity is a collaboration piece with Nisus, I will not disrespect Nisus by taking ideas from it, so I won't be forced to take it down at all. However, as some of you may have notice, FT's update schedule has slowed considerably. Writing my book has taken a lot of time away from FT. Also, I've had computer troubles recently, and begun to work for a magazine. Coupled with a day job, my time's pretty much all used up. FT has not been forgotten, though. However, Final Trinity is currently on hiatus. I'm sorry to announce this sad fact, but let's face it. It's hardly a surprise. I've lost all of my work on Final Trinity at least three times now, and discouraged from that, I got slower and slower at the rewrites, until I finally gave yup entirely. Does this mean Final Trinity is gone for good? Maybe. I might get back to it one day. But the outlook is dim.
If you wish to back up any of my work, you may do so. I ask of you not to archive it anywhere online, though. I will be keeping copies of all of my previous fanfiction. If the time comes that I've already removed the online copies, all you have to do is message me for a copy, and I will send it to you.
Promised Day and Promises and Lies are projects that are just too large to get finished realistically. I only had loose ideas of what was going to happen, and with Promised Empire and Search For the Promised One slated to be taken down, I see no reason to finish either. For those of you who wanted the conclusion and the prequel, I'm sorry. The best I can offer you is a quick synopsis for what I had planned, should you message me and ask.
Projects and Priorities as of July 3 2014:
There are no current fanfiction priorities at this moment. Now that A Life in the Day of Reno 2: Day Harder has been posted, I fully intend to stop writing fanfiction for now. Yes, I've said that before. I mean it this time. YES, I DO. Stop looking at me like that. Anyway. My projects are now non-fanfiction based. I have just published a short story in the compilation "Next Year Things Will Be Different." (Link above)
I am also working on the first book in my Lotus series, Red Blossoms the Sky. This is the one the majority of my readers will want to keep an eye out for, and which I will post updates to on my Twitter and Tumblr feeds, so if anyone wants to follow up on that, those are the places to go (Links above).
Also, simultaneously, I am working on a book tentatively called The Seven, and One Year (which is a sequel to the short story 'Next Year' found in the Next Year Things Will Be Different compilation.
