Author has written 5 stories for Stargate: SG-1.
Let's see. What to tell about me... hm...
Name: Keaira Aleda
Author's Warning: Some of my stories are dark. Not so dark that you come away depressed, but my Muse likes to involve characters in situations that show the other side of human nature, the one you don't talk about in polite company. There will, however, be other themes and emotions, i.e. humor, love, etc. This is just your fair warning that I don't tippie-toe around certain subjects. I won't necessarily be explicit, but I won't gloss things over either. I try to find a nice balance. Humans aren't all one thing or the other after all. We all have our dark and our light sides.
Just like chickens.
Except that I detest chickens with a passion that rivals that which is written into any decent romance novel. Nasty, smelly, VICIOUS, feather factories if you ask me. (The chickens, not the romance novels.) And they're so tasteless that almost ANYTHING can be described as tasting similarly. I vote for voluntary extinction of the whole damn species. (Bad experience as a child. Let's leave that there, shall we?)
I only have a few seconds before my boss is gonna be back and if he catches me you'll probably never hear from me again. On that note, here goes!
I am still alive and I do intend to continue posting on all my current stories as well as a whole gaggle of new adventures in both the SG-1 and Atlantis galaxies. Unfortunately I am not able to do so at this time due to the need to earn a paycheck and the desire to stay out of prison. I appreciate everyone's saintly patience and I'll try to make it up to you with another big post here soon. Until then, thanks for all the encouragement you've given me! Your emails and reviews make my day brighter!
Uh oh! The pointy-haired Spawn of Satan returns! Gotta go!
Okay, first let me say this: I AM NOT DISCONTINUING ANY STORIES.
Now that we have that clear, let me clarify since I'm sure some of you will be confused if you're not already.
One of my biggest pet peeves in fanfiction is a writer who begins a story with such promise and skill and sucks me in . . . only to stop halfway through and vanish off the face of the earth, leaving me hanging over a cliff with no hope of rescue in sight.
(Everyone who thinks I'm a total hypocrite pleasewait before you throw those rotten tomatoes please.)
That being said, I've discovered that writing fanfiction in a post-as-you-write kind of way is simply not compatible with my rather demanding job. So over the course of the next week I'll be attempting to post the remainder of Evolutionary Branches since it is completed.
Acting One's Age has been plotted quite extensively, but not written up for reasons I've already covered. It's not fair to all of you who have been waiting so patiently for me to finish the story to continue to post in a chapter-by-chapter fashion over what will surely be the next year or ten at the rate I'm going now. So I'm going to do the noble (if painful)thing and pass it off to my betas (if they accept) and switch to a more passive role of beta. I trust both of these girls to do a fine job of continuing the story in a manner that will hopefully still appeal to all of you, my devoted readers (if you're still here 'devoted' definitely describes you ;)). I'll beta the chaptersif at all possible prior to postingto ensure continuity of style but the bulk of the writing will be done by them.
In this way I hope to be able to finish this story and satisfy everyone's curiosity as to the fate of little SG-1.
Now, don't worry about my vanishing into the ether as it were. I have no intention of retiring from fanfiction at this time. I'm simply shifting to a different style of posting. From now on I won't put anything up on a story until I put everything up. This should minimize the interference from my job and my crazy schedule.
I’d like to thank everyone who has read my stories and especially to those who’ve reviewed them. Your praise and encouragement means the world to me and has kept me going. I’m only sorry I couldn’t reward your gratitude with more timely updates.
My sincerest apologies and gratitude to you all,
