I've been here and writing fic since 2004. 2004! Holy shit! How long ago was that! How old am I? Who are you? Where are my glasses? What day is it right now?
I hate when I go to look for a fic I enjoyed, maybe even a fic that was an important part of a phase of my life, and it's gone. So it is my principle to never remove my fics once I've posted them...no matter how much the world would potentially be a better place with them gone. Bear in mind the timestamps as you read. Older stuff may be egregiously problematic, contain errors, not comply with later canon, be in fandoms I no longer participate in, not have proper warnings, or have had the formatting ruined by FFN's changes over the years. I don't even remember half of what I wrote. I am trying to fix the formatting issues when I have time/energy for it, and I may fix the occasional missed punctuation or offensive author's note, but for the most part my old fics will remain as they were written. I don't believe in endless editing, in denying that my past was what it was, or in taking energy from future endeavors in some misguided pursuit of perfection.
That said, a lot of people enjoy my old fics, and I enjoyed writing them, so you might like them too! Reviews for them still do give me a warm glow. It's nice to know that even something I did so long ago is still making people happy. Not many works have that kind of longevity.
I am in the process of backing up my old stuff on AO3, even though I don't have everything from here on there yet, it's worth checking out because I have some other old stuff that was too porny or got buried somewhere on Livejournal and never archived here for whatever reason. Like the great marching onward from mailing lists to LJ to Tumblr, a lot of fic fandom is moving there, and personally I welcome our comprehensively tagged overlords. But you don't just let go of ten years of history, so this site will get updates too.
The absolute best place to go for my newest fic is actually my ficblog on tumblr, forbitten-fruit. I tend to post things there first, you can sometimes see fanart of my stuff, and that's where you can find WIPs I haven't archived anywhere else yet. Did you know I wrote 60k of Tahno/Korra road-tripping through the Earth Kingdom? Or started an epic Hobbit AU where Thranduil gets the One Ring? You can also reblog anything written since 2012 or so directly from there.
