Author has written 8 stories for Penny Dreadful, Greek Mythology, Mansfield Park, Pride and Prejudice, Jane Eyre, and Wuthering Heights.

I've been an avid reader all my life, starting out with Laura Ingalls and Anne of Green Gables, moving on via Jane Austen and the Brontë sisters to fantasy. Books are my friends, I re-read my favourites often, appreciating the language and especially the emotion it can convey. I'm Dutch and live in The Netherlands, but the English language has always played an important role in my reading, and also in the series I watch.

In my spare time I make statues and props out of paper-maché, and not surprisingly these often have a fantasy theme, I especially love making dragons and people who have animal characteristics, like horns and scales. As they take shape beneath my hands, my statues become very dear to me, so I rarely sell anything, that would break my heart.

My writing is characterised by a fantasy theme, with creatures and action suitable to the genre, but also trying to incorporate the use of language and the description of human emotions and relations that characterise romantic literature. Read human here as not excluding non-humans, and because people (in the broadest sense of the term) make love, I describe that too in some detail, hopefully staying within the boundaries of good taste, though not shying away from inter-species relationships.

Instead of inventing my own system of how magic works, I tend to use a simplification of those I have read about in other fantasy books, for why force readers to get to know a whole new system, working through pages of technical explanations, if the ones already existing explain the workings of magic just fine? I hope that those who recognise this will see it as a tribute to the original inventor, not as plagiarism.

Revelations sequel reviews
So many novels end with the promise of marriage, and so few describe what happens after. I've often wondered about this particular wedding night, but frankly, Mr Darcy has changed so much by giving him some human feelings, I cannot imagine him, or Elizabeth, fumbling secretly in the dark anymore. Their first efforts must be heart-warming, their married life as well. Purists beware!

Deliverance : an adaption of Jane Eyre reviews
This is one of those 'what if' adaptations. I've always wondered why Mr Rochester had to be broken so thoroughly before he could be happy with Jane Eyre. What if she had not been able to get away, what if he had been waiting by her door a second time, pleading her to stay? Would she indeed have lost herself and been made his mistress?

The monster: nature or nurture? reviews
What would happen if Victor Frankenstein did not leave his creature to fend for himself? Would he turn into a lonely monster anyway? And did the docter choose the corpse to resurrect with sufficient care? What if he chose a violent and passionate man for his experiment? You'll find out if you read this story, the ladies' version of Penny Dreadful season 1, 2 in progress.

Revelations reviews
Reading P&P, Mr Darcy's feelings seem rather acute, but do not get much attention. This story explores them from the moment just after his rejection, to beyond his actual marriage. The action follows P&P exactly, but some secondary characters, most notably Georgiana and Mrs Younge, push the boundaries of Miss Austen's description. The style of writing diverges from hers ever more.

Mansfield Park 'The Crawfords' redemption' reviews
I always liked this book, but somehow felt Mary and Henry Crawford were treated unfairly by Jane Austen because they were not stuffy and boring and dependable, like Edmund and Fanny herself, but witty and passionate and likeable. I always felt they would not react in the way they did in the book, but rise to the challenge. So here's what they'd do in my view.

Mirror bound reviews
Working as an engineer is not an easy task for a young woman in Victorian London, but renting an apartment from a handsome inventor makes up for a lot. Together they buy a piece of folk-art, a mirror with a goat-like man looking out of it, and when one night Melissa finds the mirror empty, a whole series of magical adventures starts. A tale of different morals and a lot of love.

Mansfield Park 'The Crawfords' redemption' chapter 19 uncensored reviews
This is the 19th chapter of my Mansfield Park fanfiction, in which Fanny and Henry are newly wed and finally get to touch one another. Of course, Jane Austen would never have described a love-scene, but that does not mean that people in those days didn't make love, they did, and probably as passionately as this. The adult content is only slightly explicit, it barely deserves the M
